I finished the road bridge. I worked on it until it fit perfectly. Right now, it's removeable so I can work on my canal without it getting in the way. I need a picture. I got the railroad bridge kit to build next.
Good of you to think ahead, providing for safe removal of the bridge. I drive myself crazy with this sort of thing, always thinking about accessibility to things. Unlike my last layout, the new one has casters so that I can pull it away from the wall for easy access to the rear of the 36" deep layout. I can reach that far to clear a derailment, but doing maintenance would otherwise be very difficult.
Candy, Love your backdrop. Do I ever remember 12/12 pitched roofs. Heavy snow, poor attic insulation, coupla warm days, and swoosh, down comes a roof-load of snow.
'Hytec' Oh yah! I do remember those "snow storms". 'Candy' Do you plan on another support for the bridge. The span looks a bit long.
Can't do it. It would interfere with the tow line. That's why I made a scale correct templet of a canal boat. Suggestions always welcome
Wait a minute dumb girl! I can place a support just to the left of the tow path. It will work I think
Looking at your scene, you do such a fine job of thinking through the entire scene, getting all of the elements properly sized, working out the varied paint colors and weathering, and using place-holders like the canal boat to maintain your vision of what's to come. This has been an exceptionally cool project.
Yes, I did it and there is still room for the mules. Sorry about the lens reflection on the background
I'm not familiar with canals in that area. Would there be walk ways along them? Would there be stairs going down to it near the bridge or the lock that you may be adding to the back drop?
Walkway is called the tow path. I will make one. No stairs. Mules can't do stairs But inside the lock there are stairs that the lock tender uses. But there will be an incline for the mules and driver. I will build one.
