You're on the "west end" of the Island and a true New Yorker!
As far as all the other photos you guys submitted, I feel like I'm playing with Plasticville stuff when I see what you guys do!
I'm open to any invitations to see your stuff! LOL!

    7600EM-1,
That is sweet! I'm only a whopping 23 yrs old, too, and wish I had those kind of skills....
I am building a fume hood for my airbrush... I won't pay 300$ for a new one, when I can make one for less than 40$!! The kicker is, after I wired the fan, I kept kicking the breaker.... Turns out the 15 amps the fan is drawing is more than a 16-3 cable can dish out...... [IMG] *doh!*
I'll post pics when it's finished... It gets so cold out here in winter that I'd have to shelf all painting projects, or face fumes, overspray and that lightheaded feeling.. I figured the wife would like to breathe good air, too. That's why she didn't complain too much...
I'll let everyone know how the hood turns out, when I workt he bugs outta it. For now, I have to rewire to 12-3 gage wire....

    Johnny,
Let me know if you get to see Pete to visit! We'll get something fired up at the station! My layout right now is a mess! addition, and reconstruction in progress... So The station is my only alternative right now! :D

Hemi, love the name 426! HA! Anyway, I got into alot of schooling and training for alot of trades! I went to school for Carpentery and Mansonary in high school I took a technical school my 9th to 12th grades instead of regular schooling, I also took after school training for home electrician, and HVAC, And got into the hobby work by choice and a chance and took full advantage to it. If one of the trades failes.. Just fall back onto the next in line.. Thats when the shop work is slow and then the first is falling back on the Carpentry work! I love working with my hands and with wood... :D

    Johnny, and everyone here :
Anytime you guys get to Queens let me know. I will be happy to show you guys to the house. The only bad news being that my little train space got smaller this week due to a new washer and dryer. I may be ripping everything up and building something modular until the day I purchase a house with adequate train space. Until then I will be tackling some more projects to keep myself busy.

    Russ,
I know how it can get in modeling HO scale I can just imagine the work and shakyness of the hand in N scale! But nice work! :D I get into alot of small detail in HO scale where it has me scratchin my head, talking to myself (and yes sometimes answering myself) So I know how that is but N scale? I bet alot of head scratchin and talking and answering yourself goes on! HA HA HA! :D

That is too cool. I now live on Myrtle ave and Cooper ave, the "other end" of forest park. The only bums we have here now though are the Mets

    :D :D :D

P.S. Check out my website. I have some pics of the LIRR and the NY&A that should bring back some memories for you.

I remember when WORLD OF TRAINS was on Woodhaven Blvd! (Lee is still going stong on Metro)!
Even though I'm from Manhattan, I know Cooper's on Cooper by the cemetary, Eddie's Sweetshop on Metropolitan, The Rockaways and good old White Castle on Queens Blvd. My boss lives on Ingram St.
I've been in Forest Park. Knew a girl from 69th near Grand Ave. too.
Not bad for a kid from the Upper Westside!

Russ, your choice of doing the NY@A is way way cool. Where did you get decals, or did you make your own?

OK - I'm finally posting - I've got one that's been on the back burner for a few months. It will be SOO 768 (one of their earlier SD40-2s) as it appeard in the mid 1990s

Note the styreen 'patches' where the electronic bell and original extra side windows were. The extra side windows were rather unique to Soo Line EMD orders (I think BN did this too?)

Here's the shortened nose from Cannon and you can see where I had to fill in from the original Athern nose. BTW - this is one of the 'new' SD40-2s. Not also the holes for ditch light wires.

Again - two pathces where the horn has been. These will eventually be weathered so they really stand out. The horn in 1995 was on the center of the long hood.

My other project? - it was declared finished and will be posted over in the Intermodal forum later [IMG]
