    Russ,
An excellent project, I really like how you have taken photos of your model in the same postion of the photo of the prototype.

    The model looks excellent.

Here is a photo of my latest project which is scenicking a mountain ridge on my layout. I just have to motivate myself to do the next layer of plaster.

Catt - Thanks for the kind words. This is what keeps me into the hobby year round. It means a lot to hear words of encouragement from modelers like yourself who have a lot more experience and savy.

Colonel - How about some words of encouragement for your motivation: That layout is looking sweet! I dream of the day I am able to have a nice sized layout and to actually have scenery and industries that dwarf the trains themselves. Keep me posted on that mountain.

Russ your engines look great for a professional! Did you have to strip all the paint off to get the smooth surface?

One thing about the Colonel, he doesn't move mountains, he builds them! HA!

My latest project is starting the detailing on the 134 foot turntable and pit for my layout. You can't see the roundhouse from here, but it is specially designed to handle the larger engines, like the 4005 Big Boy on it.

Nice, Watash, nice! I remember when that was just a hole in the board. It will be very nice when all those locomotives finally have a home!

WOW! That is a fine looking loco Watash. It would look sweet running beneath a Colonel-sized mountain. Is that loco brass?

Great to see so many good looking projects being worked on.

Right now, I am finishing up the construction phase of a layout extension. This is a 18"x48" extension that houses a small 4 track yard, one industry with two tracks, and a two track engine house.

The track is all laid and wired, ground throws installed, and buildings in place. No scenery yet, but soon (?).

Photos will be forthcoming soon. I need to get the roll of film to the photo lab. (Anyone got a spare digital camera they wish to donate?) BTW, someone has to explain how to post a picture here. I have tried twice, only to come up empty both times.

I've been busy working on benchwork on my layout, using sections from my old HO pike. By the end of the week, I should have all the benchwork up, awaiting grading and track crews.
Sorry, no photos- the digital camera we have is a WalMart cheapie we got for our sons.

All of the above projects are looking great guys! Oh and Russ, I just checked out your webpage for the GP38 and the comparison shots are great!! I am very impressed!

Here are some things I have recently completed......

Here we see a picture of 4 long time projects. Those of you who have followed my posts in the recent past has seen all but the BNSF H II C44. The locomotive has a TON of details including my GPS dome and 4 window conversion, but the picture is not upclose for a reason, the locomotive is not done. Oh and all locomotives in the picture are custom painted and detailed by me.

This picture shows some of the truck and underframe detail on the BNSF C44-9W.

I'll hopefully have some more updates soon.

Great models Craig (As always). One thing that I envy about your detailing is your handmade grab-irons and handrails. This is one of the goals that I am working towards.

As for my next project, I will be turning a Lifelike SW1200 into a NY&A SW1001 like the one here:

The big part will be getting the body contour correct. Then I will need some BLMA sunshades and an SW1500 nose conversion (as this is an identical nose to the sw1001) After that maybe (and I mean maybe) I will attempt to scratchbuild an MP-15AC . That project depends on how much free time I get.

Craig - Thanks again and again, good work!

No Russ, this Big Boy is a Rivarossi, the heavy one is still packed away, but I have put a sash weight on the table to make sure the table will still rotate under the weight of the brass one.

Yeah Benny, I am anxious to start loading up the roundhouse too! Problem is it only has 33 stalls, and my wife just bought me another "big" one for Christmass! She wont tell me which "big" one, so it will be a surprize, BLESS HER HEART! I may have to add another roundhouse somewhere now. I'm using the roundhouse to park the engines to keep dust from settling on them.

Russ, here is some photos during construction you may not have seen.

The pit and table are from Diamond Scale Products, with a New York Co. computer controlled rotor motor. The table is reinforced to carry the heavier engines. The roundhouse is scratch built freelanced along the lines of the U.P. Cheyenne, Wyo. house.

Oh thanks for the comments on my mountain, I'm thinking of calling it Mount Watash for true inspiration.

Wayne- Those pics of the roundhouse do not seem to have progressed for a while time to get a move on [IMG]

Well guys keep the pics coming I really enjoy seeing everybodies projects :D

You are right Paul, I have gotten delayed on some off-line duties. I hope to get back to making some progress again soon. I can type in some posts late at night without waking my wife, but too much noise to work on the layout. Days have been hecktic lately. :(

    Great work Rush,
I admire that, especialy in N ga.

In fact all the projects pictued above are pretty impressive to me, a hi railer.

My dim eyes and shaky hands appreciate such fine work. O and Standard gauge is about all they can work with these days, LOL.

Watash, that roundhouse is huge! What kind of material was it built from and did you use plans to build it? Since Colonel said he would name his mountain after you it would be fitting to name the roundhouse for him. You two guys are awesome!
I would love to see the loco facilities for all those big engines.

Colonel, good idea moving this topic here. Thanks.

Gil, It's not my eyes that I have problems with but my shaky hands. When I was decaling the loco my wife and kids sat around and had a good old time watching me (especially the number boards). I think that this was one of the only times I swore in front of them! :D
    P.S. Welcome aboard!

    Russ,
Thanks for your compliments but I'm just an average modeller who finds it so relaxing to work on my layout :D
