No problem, it's just that I have become a little impatient wanting to do this model but not quite sure how to approach it.:tb-wink: I used to eat Tacos in the 70's at that particular stand when I moved out here to complete my education. Yes, I think this is a very exciting project and it also brings fond memories to me also. Thank you for all your help and suggestions and I am sorry if you felt that you added to my frustrations, you did not. It was something that was building up in me and had nothing to do with you. I will continue to see what I can do to start this project. It will not go fast for me and please feel free to comment as much as you want.

Wow, that look's really nice Kenneth. I think you have given me very good advice. It will take me some time to do this and if I can get something looking decent, then I will begin construction on a new layout built around the LAUPT since I only do passenger trains of the 40's & 50's. I guess I want it now and it is not going to happen now. The next couple of months are going to be very busy for me with very little time to devote to my hobby. This is another one of my frustrations that has been nagging at me. While I will be busy with other things, I will let this ferment in my mind so that I can bring fruition to this wonderful project I have dreamed up for myself. I have seen so many wonderful layouts on this forum by others and it has inspired me to attempt this endeavor. Thanks for all your suggestions and help.

Mac comments and Union Depot comments

You and Charger are really missing the boat. 10.4 and 10.5 are like a dream come true. I know little about any problems that people are having - having heard nothing but +++'s. Could it be your processor or memory configuration? Apple is no different than everyone else. They equip the software engineers with state of the art equipment to do their programming. After they get the new OS up an running Beta, they go in an patch for hardware downward compatibility. That last step does not change the very basic nature of the new OS - it was designed to run on state of the art hardware.

I'm running Leopard on Intel Core Duo 1.66 Ghz with 2GB of RAM. There are 2 HDD's for a total of 325GB. I throw those specs at you for your use in evaluating your hardware against a Tiger shipped system. I added 1GB of memory and an external HDD to reach the specs above. When I transitioned to Panther it was seamless. The load time seems to be much the same. The new features make your life at the system much less stressful, IMHO.

Good luck on your Union Depot project. I hope that you will post pix as you progress. A field trip from Leland Street School, San Pedro, CA to Union Depot was my first ride on a school bus. I was in the 5th grade and it had just opened. I still remember much of that day. 30 years later I was commuting to and from Union Station(as we locals called it) on a daily, M-F, basis. That was really a gas!!

It will really be fun to watch your progress:thumbs_up:

Thanks for the info about the newer Mac Operating systems. We have a much older Mac with a single processor. No Intel and other stuff. We would like to get the new Intel but it is not in the immediate cards for us. We do not feel that it would run as well on our older Mac. I think the newer hardware probably works well the new operating systems.
I think my project is getting off to a slower start than I would like. As soon as I can convince Google to let my operating system work with Stretch 6, than I may be able to scale this baby and start work. However, most of my time for the next two months has been reserved for other projects more pressing . Ever since I retired, I seem busier than ever. I will post anything that I do here so I can get input from others who are so much more experienced that myself. I have been given a lot of good information on how to approach this matter.
Yes, it sounds like you have very fond memories of LAUPT. It would be nice to be able to go back in time and visit places that we loved and remember so well.I just wonder if we remember things as well as we think we do. You can leave home but never go back to live, only visit.
