Anyone else out here wish Kato would go back and do some modernized mechanism 4 axle locomotives? This is merely a gut feeling but does anyone else see a UP turbine in the future by them? Just my rambling thoughts here. Mike
Baldwin, Lima, and Hamilton as manufacturers. And the later merger results of the three. As far as an updated motor I believe one is seeing the trend with Kato with the new coreless motor in the FEF.
Lets hope not. You can always slow a fast motor down but can not speed up a slow motor. I will gladly trade you all my slow motors for your Kato motors. IMHO
It could have 1000 axles...just no more &$*&^$&$(&%(^ Sprung Trucks !!! Kato...K.I.S.S. !!!!!!!
Why on earth would anyone want to speed there trains up? I like to run mine at scale speeds not like there running the Indy 500. I wish I would have know that a few years ago, I would have gladly traded you.
Single headlight F-units in east coast roadnames. Although it's only been a quarter century since they made NYC and PRR F3s, it could be time for another production run. An AEM-7 electric has four axles, too. Make that along with double-vestibule Amfleet Type I cars. Also, a vote for an NP NCL with F-units, even if they just (re)use the existing smooth-side cars.
I wish Kato (or Atlas) would offer a reliable constant source of F7s. As a WP modeler, I need a fleet of F7s. I don't even care if they're offered in WP, I can paint my own, just a constant supply! As for a Gas Turbine, might Athearn release one since they offer it in HO? And, did Kato do Con-Cor's?
Yes, the 10000 horsepower ones, they already make a really nice tender for them, plus there are two for them to measure.
How could I forget! A Virginian EL-C! Now for those who are not as big as a Virginian guy as me than an E-33. It could be made in VGN, N&W, NH, PC, and Conrail and it would make a good freight companion to the GG1.
Also Kato has one of the two GTEL around 30 miles from there office at the Illinois Railway museum. Maybe they already measure it when they went there to measure the E5. I would get one and I don't model UP, because like the FEF-3, Challengers and Big Boys, they are just cool.
You missed what I said. I too run scale speed but like the option of faster as opposed to no option. Mike
