    I recall that baloney about the cement. That showed how a lot of folks did not know much about older passenger cars.

    Looking at these photos of the cut up observation cars is depressing. I can't envision them being restored in the condition they are in... thinking along the lines of Humpty-Dumpty... "all the kings horses and all the kings men can't put these cars together again".

    It's even more depressing when you realize that it appears as though they failed to do one of the important steps with restoring passenger cars. That being, protect the window glass from vandals.

    For all intent and purposes those cars are gone. As far as I know the only car left is the Coffee Creek.

    Well it's too bad about all these passenger cars being scrapped. It's a shame really.
    I just pre-ordered the nine car set. The brochure at the hobby shop showed computer generated images of the the super dome and the Skytop. They will be all new and gorgeous.
    I don't need the locomotives because they don't fit my Era. And since I have a Hiawatha Baltic with no consist.......
