I will miss John's thoughts and encouragement. He preferred to talk over the phone rather than email over the pond. I appreciated his calls - especially when we started talking about his other interests. I have faith that he is enjoying his heavenly Harley.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I was wondering if anyone knows if there will be services and when and where? John was a big help in the development of our Auto Racks and other projects an we wanted to make sure to offer some sort of condolance to his family.

    Thanks

What's really amazing here, and yet anybody that met him shouldn't be surprised - the amount of 'off the books' assistance he gave others toward product and project development.

John set a high bar for us to emulate here in 'paying it forward' for the hobby and scale. Let's not forget that.

Being relatively new to the hobby, I never heard of the man until I read this thread and did some research on him. He indeed was an ICON in the model railroad community and I hope someone in the family is able to continue with the business. Also, I would like to offer my deepest sympathy to his family.

John was the epitome of the type of small-business, modeler turned manufacturer who gives depth and interest to this hobby. The number of comments here is a testament to the number of people he helped. He'll be missed.
