Is there a busier N scale forum out there or is this it?

Well, if we are going to eat, make it sufficiently agreeable in flavor to be eaten.

As always, amazing how few know the true definition of censorship. It must be one of the most mis-applied words in daily use... Anyhow, perhaps an individual looking inward instead of outward is the solution to eggshells.

I will also note we have quickly moved far away from N scale, into Support Forum subjects. Another reason for.....

The vast majority of forum members are lurkers and nothing more. It is always the same hundred or so members who respond to postings, and the same couple of dozen who initiate the postings in the first place. Fortunately, that same couple of dozen are prolific and talented modelers who have something relevant to say and excellent models to show.
    That's why I keep lurking!

Sometimes for me this forum has almost too many choices. I don't want to have to sift through it all. I think that is what may cause some to feel like there is not enough activity, because it is so broad.

If ya want an "all around n scale forum"...then here at TrainBoard is the place to be.

If ya want an "eastern roads specific forum" then try Railwire.

Just be sure you "mind your Ps and Qs" over there...nuff said.

I frequent a great number of forums. This one is pretty busy in general. I find that between 4 or 5 different N forums, I find all i want and more... well other than finding an announcement of a mass produced Allegheny.... :)

It's also worth noting, as others have hinted, the drama is pretty low around here thankfully.

I agree..........I have all the "drama" I need in my daily life. I come here to relax. Let the trouble-makers and the rabble-rousers go somewhere else. Don't need the noise..................

I don't think there is a busier MMR forum out there; and I've been a member of more than one. Now I'm just a member of this one, because it has the best of all worlds. Each scale to include 1-1.
All I can say is I hope they keep on doing what they have been doing.
    One reason that I am a $$ supporter:wink:

Well for me it’s definitely the time of year. It’s hard for me to stay in the train room when there’s so much to do outside, but then I’m really an outdoors kind of person and I haven’t done anything on the layout in months. I do try to at least look in once a week or so to see what going on, but just haven’t had anything to say.
If I could afford it, I would start a garden layout for the summer time.

I kinda see TrainBoard as an N-scale forum...that just happens to talk about other scales and prototype trains too. :)

That’s funny you say that, because I first signed in thinking it was only an N-scale forum. It was quite a while before I realized that there was other stuff here as well.

To answer your question.......try Nscale.net and Nscale.org. As already noted, this is a slow time for forum traffic.......too many other things to do. I can't say the 2 I listed have more traffic, but they are N scale only. I honestly hit 4 sites almost every night and 5 most night. The 2 N scale sites, this site , another multi-scale site, and a G scale site. The more the merrier as far as I'm concerned.

Grand Rapids the end of July. I've an N scale friend who lives in GR. Hoping he can attend, then pass along some news.

BTW, nscale.org is based in Germany and nscale.net is based in Canada. The .org forum is slightly more European-oriented. American/North American roads get more discussion on the .net forum.

Posted as a member and not as moderator-

We are again participating in a giant mental masturbation exercise.

Every board could be busier to the point of not blowing out because of strain on the server or provider.

    Every board has its rules.

References made earlier in thread to someone starting his own board. I wish him luck in his new full time endeavor.

Nobody is tied to nothing. Board membes are like nomads. They wander around until they find a comfortable place to live. I am comfortable here. Some other are not. If not, saddle up the camel and head into the internet desert.

    Well said,

I usually do not reply to posts like this because they have nothing to do with modeling or N scale but I enjoyed the comment about the internet desert. As someone once said, "Much ado about nothing".
