hey frisco, don't forget to add a stop for sarcoxie. depot is long gone, but they used to ship a huge amount of strawberries out of there in the 30s through early 60s
Finally got a few shots...letters kinda got screwed up on the SD9 with all of the vents on the long hood. Hand rails still need applied, I was surprised my Atlas U-Boasts didn't come with MU hoses, so I'm gonna go out and get MU's for all my locos and new horns for the U boats before I add handrails. It's 7:30pm and 2347 shoves it's last cut of cars before caling it a day.
I have been "toying" w/ the exact same thing. I model an "imaginary" division of the C&O. Mainly because I really love the C&O equipment from the "transitional" era and the geography. But I felt that if I attempted to model a real portion, I'd get bogged down in the research and nothing would ever get built. At first I was going to do an interchange w/ either the Virginian or the NYC. Both "shared" coal mines w/ the C&O. (See 'Vignettes of the C&O by Clear Block Productions). However, within the last couple of weeks, I have been thinking about a completely imaginary line to interchange. I have recently been redoing my track and added an interchange track as part of the process. The original interchange intent was a known Class I RR, but I am rethinking that concept. Actually, I have been toying around w/ madep-up "Dominion Central" interchange... the made-up "Kentucky Dominion" interchange... anything to represent the geography of Northern Virginia-West Virginia-Eastern Kentucky where my fictitious "Albemarle C&O Division" exists. Good thread. Something tells me I will be looking hard at maps tomorrow.
