Got an update on my Columbia River Bridge project. Attached is a photo of the real thing. I've quickly highlighted the sections of the bridge that I've completed scratch building. I was at the United Northwest Modelers meet/show this last weekend and hamered out the last of the 156' sections that make up this large bridge. A total of 10 156' sections are now complete. I will next work on the building the four 216' sections. After those I'll begin building the largest section, a 266' through truss. But first I need to order more plastruct parts.
Neat photo! Where did you find it? During research...? Can't wait to see those completed modules! Boxcab E50
Yes, found it doing some research. There are a series of photos that go along with this one. The photo was taken during the mid 1960's. I have other aerial photos that were taken during the early 1960's as well.
Well, it seems the last time I updated this thread was when I need more parts for my bridge and this appears to be the case once again. I'm getting close to finishing all of the bottom trusses and will begin work on the through truss shortly. After that comes the nitty gritty details, which will require some custom parts. I'm getting excited about getting back into some modeling as my book writing and production comes near an end. I'm going through the editorial and photo reproduction process currently. Until next time here is a recent photo of Extra 21 East crossing Renslow with it's newly acquired icicle breaker erected.
OK, Greg, quit posting proto photos, and calling them modeling photos.... That's quite impressive, my friend!
