Well, I'm actually talking a lot more precipitation, than needed to fill the Columbia. I am betting you've had enough of flooding lately! Ha ha!

Flooding, I wish, tired of the 8" deep freeeze we have right now, 15 degrees outside after two days of snow and melt. Looks like I'll be stayin home again tomorrow! M

Well, you could move here. It's only 2 below zero right now. With a wind chill of close to 20 below.

Memories of seeing the Cascades in truly deep snows. Watching pan flashes at night from the Boxcabs.....

    Sigh. More tears.

I need to get over Helena as well. It's the only decent swap in the state.

    Boylston Depot Update!

Looking at the west side of the Depot.
This has the roof placed on top of the depot to show what it will look like when permanently added.

Inside walls of the depot were built according to the original blue prints. I only added these walls so that when the depot is view from the outside one can see a wall through the window. Doing so stopped ability to look straight through the depot. I figured why not build is as close to the real one as well. I will be permanently adding a roof to this and access to the inside will be sealed shut. No other interior will be added other than what is shown here.

I am now going to start working on building the eaves for this depot. I have the chimney's and other small details already to go. So then paint and we'll close to finishing. This time the depot measures exactly.

Well Ken, the first coat of the main body color is on. Actually it will probably only need one coat. To tell you the truth I was a little scared, as I have never painted anything like this before. Plus it was the first time using my new airbrush...which work great!

So I'll let this dry real good so that I can do some masking on the upper portion so the bottom can be painted. Boylston was painted in the two-tone gray and I just picked two colors that looked close to the one color photo I have of it. However, I am thinking that after all the main painting is done I'll go over it with a very light white color to make it look like that faded color I need for the 70's era.

But I'll tell you the hardest...well maybe not the hardest but definitely the most tedious part of building the depot was the eaves. They took forever because they kept either falling off or breaking off while trying to put another one on. haha!

I also forgot to mention I built the speeder shed that was located at Boylston as well. Next I'll have to build the bunkhouse and tool/coal shed. You know I haven't gotten a table built yet for Boylston...but I am thinking about doing it soon. The Columbia is taking up a lot of room at the moment. haha. I'll see what I can do about getting a small diorama built for you Ken...doing so will probably make it look better.

I am trying to figure out what I could use to fill in the hole in the side doors on the depot. They are suppose to be screens on the doors...does anyone know of anything I could use that would make it look like a screen?

Paint is on! Now for some detailing and weathering of the depot. Also roofing materials, shingles and chimney come next!
