    How many folks have also checked out a particular section, only to discover that track does NOT exist in that specific area?? I've followed several abandoned sections, while searching. A bit annoying!

    I've done that. I usually have the Google Earth option for showing rail lines turned on, but it's not always correct, especially in places like Africa.

    I ran into fellow Geo Sleuth Dave Porter today while setting up at the Oklahoma City Train Show. We decided that #70 has gone on far too long and you guys better solve it quick. :)

    If we had a hint that was a little more illuminating other than some obscure fact we could never deduce on our own we might get somewhere. Hints like, "I lost my car keys there in 1978," don't really help.:tb-biggrin:

    I don't think it is Illinois. I have searched and searched that state.

    I'll End This

    :wink2:Everybody sing along, it's a good ol' railroad song:
    "All aboard the southbound odessey,
    The trains pulls out of Kankakee" {Illinois}

    Otto Yard, you got it! Here I thought it wasn't in Illinois since I had been all over the place, but I had been looking for a small-ish town, not the edge of a town.

    I got a ride in the cab of a Conrail loco southeast of St. Anne when I was a kid! I think all of that trackage is KB&S now.

    Hello all,

    This was a though one...

    Congratulations from here too Otto Yard :bear-smile:

    that's one of my favorites too :bear-smile:

    But I'm wondering, what that plant in the left is or was. On Google Earth it's shown that there is (or better was) a track from the siding into the plant. The turn out and tracks are gone, but I think the treeline over the parking lot seems to indicate the old track line.
