It's not Boardman, Oregon. I saw the arid environment and what looks like a powerplant and tried that.

With that kind of land division I would say United States, an area settled after the Land Ordinance of 1785 (the one where we got the rectangular townships, sections, quarter-sections, etc.).

Looks more Midwestern to me- I also noticed a subdivision in the upper left corner.

I would say somewhere like Iowa with all its east west lines but most of that state is low resolution photos.

Hmmm. Riverside, or is it Centerville? Maybe Fairview, Franklin or Midway? How bout Fairfield, Pleasant Valley or Troy? Can't be Springfield.

Well, you're not the Scott Stutzman from Decatur, Illinois or the one from Mooreland, Oklahoma. There are LOTS of Scott Stutzmans across this nation. This should be fun.

If it is one of those cities, it's not in California. I checked all of those. I am now trying some of these names in a different state.

It doesn't appear to be any of these in Illinois, either.

I am tired. I am going to bed.

Those are the most popular names for towns in the USA. Just a shot in the dark. Most appear in well over thirty different states. I have been going over each of the mid western states but so far have not stumbled on the location. Onward.......my eyes hurt.

    D@&N YOU, RUSSELL STRAW!!!

    Thwarted again!

I thought Russell was trying to impart a hint, like maybe he knew it was ONE of those cities but just wasn't going to tell when it came to which state it is...which is fair. This is a Google Earth Contest, after all, not a Google Earth Giveaway.

Also, I know way more about the free online Stutzman family tree than probably most Stutzmans. Of course, the trees I was looking at were all missing one Scott Stutzman in particular, a prominent member of the railfan esoterica community.

I am thinking that that someone was me. I still cannot find it, but I DID find out that there's a lot of that same weird marking on fields in the Land o' Lincoln. That's where I have been looking, but I am almost too tired to sit up anymore.:eh-confused:
