Post No.34 a few pages back before we got sidetracked with prices sounds like an update to me. Says they should all be shipped by the end of this week, give a few more days for dealers to test run and drool over them. Probably be on their way to us in the next week or two.

If manufacturers gave discounts on based on how long they miss their initial release dates by how much will BLI be paying us when the PRR M1 4-8-2 finally arrives.:tb-biggrin:

    fatalx,

You should know almost exactly what the set will cost if you ordered from a reputable dealer. That should not even be an issue. Sure, it could fluctuate a few dollars, but not much. I also saw you mention that the set should be perfect; maybe your expectations are a little too high. For $300, we should expect something that looks nice and runs well; not necessarily perfection. I think this set will be very nice and I am very happy for matt because he can now continue to offer more items for the niche market, which benefits all of us.

I'm not sure why you feel a lack of updates? Matt has kept us informed exactly when and why things are delayed. Between his face book page and posts to various forums, there has been lot's of information. There are more sources of information than just this forum. Even so, if you read this topic, you should know that that he is shipping the sets out this week to shops and distributors. The information is out there, you just have to look for it.

The initial delay was due to all the production drag in China. Then they didn't make it by the Holidays because he felt that they were not up the standards he was willing to accept so they were redone. Now we are 3 months later with a product due any day.

FVM is still doing better than Atlas and many others...let's see, the Shay is now a year and ahalf behind schedule, and this is a product that they have done before, not an all new launch. Most loco's in their lineup are 6 months to a year behind, although they are now starting to catchup, simply because they slowed down announcements to let the product flow catchup to production rates.

I'll always support Matt, no matter what, thats why I have just silently waited, and waited, and waited, I still have not heard anything except for what I have read right now.
I have just resigned myself to one day I'll get an Invoice.

About 8 months delayed is not too bad.

Ask everyone how long we waited for the AC-12. ;) :p

Honestly, why would you not contact the dealer you ordered from if you were concerned? They should have been able to answer your questions as well.

Unfortunately, there's more Model Railroad forums than most of these manufacturers have tiem to keep up with, expecially a one man shop like Matt's. Cut the guy a little slack, as he does work hard at bringing an exceptional product to market.

No matter what I do or I say, you are going to label me wrong, so what the heck is the point of participating. I have never attacked Matt so why in the heck are making it sound that way, my God, what is with you. Just lock this thread out, it useless.

What an interesting thread. I do not model the Milwaukee so I have no need for the Hiawatha. But I eagerly await the release of the model and subsequent critisizing, condeming, and complaining that is sure to come. Matt, you are a brave man to release such an item so early in your career. I wish you well and am sure that this item has been perused thoroughly. I smell it and hear it coming. Now let's sit back and watch the fun and listen to the comments.

No where do I label you as wrong. I'm trying to figure out why someone would put money down on an item, and a sizable amount, and not follow up with the person they put the money down with. I wouldn't go order a car and sit around waiting for the manufacturer to tell me when it'd be ready. I'd follow up with the dealer.

I get tired of the passing the buck, when clearly sometimes the consumer needs to do some work too.

^ And yes, I'm anxiously awaiting some reviews. The preproduction unit ran well, so I can't wait to see what the improvements FVM wanted do to it!

Can we tone it down a little, please? I am tired of this sort of "self-fulfilling prophecy" kind of post. May we just agree on what we agree upon and respectfully disagree otherwise?:tb-wacky::tb-wacky:
