Does anyone have any information about the approximate release date to the online vendors for the N-scale Fox Vally Models "Hiawatha"? Thanks, Dick Brown
I swear this was just asked last week, but I can't find the thread. It's on the website: Fox Valley Models: HO Passenger Cars It's an expected July release. As it's a new offering from the ground up, no specific date can be given, just like any of the other companies. At High Wheeler in March, I asked Matt how production was looking, and he said it was on time for July. Obviously, that was a few months ago, and things can change. No offense, but the thumbs down really irks me. This type of thing happens with every model manufacturer on new models being offered. This is a one of a kind offering that Matt wants done correctly and to the best standards. Cut him some slack. His models are always well received.
Please do forgive the "thumbs down" because I had meant the "blue question mark"! I am truly apologetic and if you new me "face to face" so to speak you would realize I do not have a nasty bone in my body. At age 80 I have learned a long time ago never to sweat the small stuff and the arrival of my very favorite train is not a major problem for me. We are going away for 6 weeks to visit our children, grandchildren and new great grandchild and I want to make certain I have enough money in the old bank account in the event my favorite vendor gets my reserved train! If you check out my second request for information you will see that my old fingers did select the question mark.
No problem! This question has been popping up in multiple forums, and it's getting a bit frustrating. Trust me. Matt wants this out as close to his scheduled delivery! :wink3: Showing it off at the NMRA show was a goal.
I think Matt's been pretty close to most of his release dates. My favorite LHS has inquired and received a "July" answer. It may be toward the end of July, but July nonetheless. Dick, thanks for explanation on the "thumbs down" thing. I have seen this a few times before where someone selected or at least thought they selected the question mark and got thumbs down instead. Now that I understand I know you were simply asking a question and not launching a complaint.
I am truly excited to see the finished product. I have two of his engines and the detail is outstanding -- superior to any other N-scale diesel I have and I have quite a few. Equally outstanding is the smooth operation on my DCC layout.
July 12, 2010 I was at Des Plaines Hobbies today in Des Plaines, IL. There were test shells of the upcoming N scale Hiawatha there. Have a look! Brooklyn Locomotive Works is still showing "preorders" on their website for the N scale. http://www.blwnscale.com/Fox%20Valley%20Models%20Hiawatha.htm Walthers is still showing "adv. res." on their site http://www.walthers.com/exec/search?quick=fox valley Hiawatha&start=30
Just got off the phone with "BLW"..............it IS still possible to reserve/pre-order the "N" scale Hiawatha set, but it "will not be out in July, probably a month or so down the road". http://www.blwnscale.com/Fox%20Valle...20Hiawatha.htm
If you can't make a reservation keep an eye on M.B. woo woo woo when they are released, they don't do pre-orders and sell on a first come, first served basis and will probably have a limit per customer to make sure there's enough to go round.
Don't quote me, but I do believe I saw somewhere that we're looking more towards October. Not that I mind, gives me more time to save my sheckels.
Well, I'd rather have it late and right than now and wrong. I was kind of hoping to run this at our summer open houses, but those end at the end of September, but I will live. Adam
I saw this on the Con-Cor website regarding the Hiawatha: ""N" Scale: Expected to leave the China factory early in Oct. Delivery early November... BUT, only a few dozen sets left, once sold out, you may not see any more for quite a while! "
It's coming. Soon. For those that ordered it, be ready. We ran a pre-pre production unit this weekend at the RPM meet. It's awesome. I'm not a Milwaukee fan, but it had me wanting to buy it.
