Military equipment move at Sedalia, Co. Was there before I knew what it was, much less having a place to stop and get pics! Was lucky to get this one. ITTX flat sitting in Longmont, with 2 Army trucks. Can anyone ID the trucks in the picture?? Closer shot of one vehicle. [ March 16, 2006, 10:55 PM: Message edited by: Keith ]
Keith - It's a version of the HEMTT (Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck) known as the PLS, or Palletized Load System. Uses a winch type system to load and unload "flatracks" (think 20' containers with the sides and tops removed) carrying cargo.
Caught this in a string of military-type construction equipment on a NM BNSF freight, Sherman, TX last year. Sveral flats had earthmovers........
......while some flats carried bulldozers. Frisco yard in foreground; train is sitting on ex-SP line (now owned by BNSF; DGNO also has trackage rights Sherman-Denison)

Well, I started this with some heavy duty flats and I'll bump it with another. This is a Kasgro Rail Lines 4 truck flat in a southbound BNSF manifest heading towards Pueblo:
