Long hood forward must be front on his MR because there were only two whistles before leaving. No he was in a hurry so they could get to beans!

The difficulty of videoing and driving the trains at same time! Must get Matt over to operate whilst I make the vids. :)

I hear you Alan. I have missed some great video opportunities because of that very issue myself. Hard to dispatch, operate and video. BTW an EMD could accelerate that fast easily with the amount of cars on that engine, lol.

Atlas Master Gold series, IIRC. Mine was a Guildford one, obviously, lettered for Springfield Terminal. Absolutely love the looks of these, especially with the Santa Fe modifications

In early 1973, Santa Fe instituted a rebuilding program for their large fleet of SD-24s; the end result of this program was the SD-26. Fairly extensive modifications were made to the locomotives, making them visually distinct from stock SD-24s. The addition of an inertial air filtering system created a “hump” directly behind the cab. This, in turn, caused the 4 roof-top air tanks to be separated and relocated further back along the edges of the roof. A “second generation” EMD-style traction motor blower bulge was included on the left side of most rebuilt locomotives.

Other spotting features included the addition of a cab-top beacon and air conditioner on most units, as well as the relocation of the bell to the roof. Most SD-26s were retired by Santa Fe in 1985 and 35 of these units were sold to Guildford Transportation Industries in 1986. Of this group, at least 3 were still in service for Guilford as of January 2004, over 44 years after they were built.

Yessir I like that too. I like the weathering over all as well. And that slug is a nice touch. We had a slug on the hump power here for years, man that thing must have had a foot of slack in the drawbar, it would sure bang you around LOL.

The reason for the replacement doors is I ran out of E's and O's on the decal sheets! Thought it was a good way to disguise it without ordering a new sheet. ☺
