Was thinking of removing the body of one of them and rebuilding into a flatbed ....... Alan Curtis Sent from my SM-T550 using Tapatalk
A C630 has been acquired by CRRC and will be allocated to the Montana Central. Seen at Andersley before patching for new owners. Also comparisons with AW RSD-15 and CRRC GP38
You simply must get sound into both of those ALCos. To hear a pair of big motors chuckling away would be fantastic.
Yes, sound is a must for those seasoned prime movers. It's fun just to hear them start up and then the shut down sequence is also cool. Especially ALCos!
I have 2 RSD15's with sound and yes they do sound cool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
The RSD-15 is mine, and it has sound. Love it! I weathered it with chalks. The C630 is Matt's and is as received. Think he is going to paint it black, weather it, then patch as though it had the large NW on the hood.
I am always impressed at how you can compress the most efforts into a small space, so consistently. Always a pleasure to view and read your posts.
Another sound equipped locomotive arrives on the property. Guildford SD26. It will be patched for CRRC. https://flic.kr/p/Df59Gk
The Montana Central and Andersley Western can not afford to buy new locomotives in the 80's and 90's and so therefor have to purchase what they can, the last new locomotives they purchased were 4 MLW M420's in 1975
Two CRRC locomotives in action. SD26 643 is about to leave with a short freight, GP38 2822 pauses during switching until 643 leaves. CRRC patch lettering not yet applied to 643.
Ken, we have numbering systems for AW and MC locomotives, based on horsepower. Freightcar numbering is based on type and length. CRRC units keep original numbers as I hate changing number boards!
