I am bumping this old thread up. With talk of AZL mikado comming out in May, I had to go back and look at this. Man, it seems like yesterday. But 6 years ago! This was one of the best builds us steam fans have seen. Obviously Gerd has taken diesels to another level, but this was da "bomb" (I think I even used 6 year old lingo there)

6 years ago... Isn't that when the AZL mikado's were announced. ; )

Time flies, but the Mikados were announced 3 years ago in Medford.

    This thread deserves another "bump."

Nothing has surpassed it in 10 years. Great job, Chris!

wow it has really been that long... I still have all my Z scale stuff, but have been playing in N and HOn30. This year since the weather first got warm I've been working on an old VW Beetle outside, haven't been in the basement in months. Never been a seasonal modeler till now. I do know trains are much cheaper than cars.

Maybe when those Atlas Z turnouts get here : )

    Thanks Chris

I think all of us are waiting for the same thing!

I hope you hurry and get back into Z Scale... nobody else can do exactly what you do. I've looked at all the stuff on Trainboard.

    This Berkshire is a masterpiece.
You've got a special feel for what looks right in Z. Not one of us has exactly that.

You've really given me lots of inspiration (and tips!) for some steam kitbashes I am working towards. Gorgeous work!

I missed the final photos when originally posted, somehow.

That is astounding modelling, even in much larger scales.

Amazing work on the Berkshire. In the video, I can see a lot of modified rolling stock in addition to the locomotive. Nice work!

WOW! just discovered this thread, and as a big time fan of the similar Pere Marquette Berks, I love it. An absolutely stunning model. The test video is superb.
