The Boise area was going crazy when we left in '90, I can't even imagine what that house would be worth today. Well, hopefully they will help you find an affordable home for the trains, and you!

In the meantime Rick, pick up a handful or so of Kato Uni-Trak, and have a little bit of easy runtime

    Thanks for your concerns expressed.

I do like the idea of some run time. Once the wiring is completed I will be able to run the bottom loop.

I have good news or it appears to be so. I may have spoken to soon.

It's always interesting to watch how a story starts to unravel. Alleged to be, just talk. My daughter is an idea person and she was trying to think of something else that might work better for me. She did say she was concerned about how the tuition's will get paid. So, this may not be over yet. Never mind the angina, I came home with.

According to reliable resources, I'm not moving. There's no intention to sell this property. That would be good news. So, I can continue to settle in and call this home.

    The H&P will get restored.

The bad news, if there is any, is...where is my stimulus check. I hope it isn't on a slow ship from China.

I haven't gotten my stimulus check while others around me have. I'm hoping it comes with my SSI Check on the 3rd. I was hoping it would get here sooner. I don't think the demo-gig's know how to do anything quickly, let alone "Now".

It'll get here when it gets here. I want my share of that stolen SS money, my cut of the payroll.

Finally, the angina has settled down.

Glad to hear that there is a bit of normality starting to show up around you! Now polish your wand and "WIRUS REPAIRO"

Glad to hear about you probably being able to stay there. Sorry to hear about the angina. I have a stent but rarely ever have angina. Lucky. I probably need a couple more stents, though. In 2007, when the one I have was "installed", there were two other arteries 60% blocked and must be worse, now. I flunked a recent treadmill stress test. They want to do an angiogram dealy bobber thingy.

No Covid money here yet, either. I have direct deposit; it hasn't shown up.

So I guess you won't be needing the train tickets I sent you?

Oh no you don't. I still want those tickets to make the trip and ride on the Gulf & Pacific Railroad.

The bucket list thing. Funny, but I want to drive down to Salt Lake City and board the California Zephyr (such as it is) and ride it to Denver, Colorado. Of course round trip and in a sleeper. I fall asleep easily when traveling.

We shall see how that pans out.

I do hope you are right. I've also heard they were holding them for direct deposit this Wednesday. May the best story win!!

Scuz! Scab! Back in the sixties, as kids, that's what we used to call those who got special favor or things most people didn't get.

My friends called me both things when my dad bought me a brand new Schwinn deluxe Sting Ray, for no reason, in the summer of 1967.

It's Wednesday and still no Stimulus Check. So... the Wednesday story or rumor is just that.

As far as my present living situation. Checked with the Landlord and everything is cool. I'm here for what he described as a long time. Whew! Dodged that bullet.

Nothing is permanent. Everything is Temporary, or so I've learned.

    Stay tuned, more news later.

Does anyone remember? The ConCor SD40's with the extended porch. On the box I wrote "Extended Bridge," which is more likely correct.

I still don't like those Rapido Couplers. They ruin the whole scene. Harrumph.:mad::mad:

Along long time ago we talked about this on TrainBoard and it developed into quite a discussion. Next question is do you remember these guys as seen in the screen?

I originally thought this was Minitrix. As you can see from the discussion and my pictures no...it's ConCor.

I'd sure like to get my hands on two more of these. They'd look good in a working lash-up of locomotives on the nose of a freight train.

Ah, the good old CTX monitors. We had a lot of them at Telex and I don't remember even one of them failing.

Anyway, I do remember those locos and I also remember joking, at the time somewhere, that the crew could put a picnic table on that porch and have picnics. I don;'t even know if I was a member here yet, then. I remember those names, however.

I wonder who actually made them for Con-Cor. RoCo?

Your right about the CTX screen. It never did fail but kind of faded. It was the PC that crashed and I found it cheaper to replace it with a Dell. Dude, I got a Dell. Aiiyiiyii !!!

They certainly look like a RoCo from the inside out. Ran like one and sounded like one as well. Now to find two more or not.

    Wish I knew for sure.

This ConCor, SD 40 had a few negatives. It wasn't compatible with my other Atlas or Kato diesels. In other words they didn't run well together. Geared differently. With Analog DC, I couldn't lash them up together. They were growlers and I could never get it to quiet down. Of course the Rapido Couplers, truck mounted. Grrrrr!! I couldn't run it up front or as the lead unit.

I did love the appearance of this unit. I have a similar one made by Kato with Santa Fe livery, a snot nose. Now that one is NICE !!

Doug G., your comment about the crew being able to play cards on a card table. I actually saw a Santa Fe version of the same motor headed down Cajon Pass, Ca. The crew had set up a card table (small one) and were playing some type of table game. It didn't last long as the wind came up and game over. They waved and pointed at the card table. I waved and laughed. Believe it or not.

Watch out all. April Fools Day is right around the corner.

    Later.

Had a pair of those ConCor SD40-2s Rick. They were noisy but good runners. Back when I bought them new, almost everything N had the open pilot and truck mounted couplers. I had upgraded mine to Unimates at least. I still regret selling them. One was the very last thing I ever sold on ebay in the early 2000's. Was such a disturbing sell that I swore an oath to never sell on ebay again but that is another story for another time.

The customers buying stuff can sometimes be trouble makers. I had one that bid and then bid some more and in my opinion overbid for the item without reading the disclosures. He bought the item and I shipped it to him wondering where this might end up at. He responded that he had overpaid for the item. No kidding. I suggested he read the disclosures. That's when he realized I had said "Junk", from the parts department and etc. The deal I made him, he can send it back to me and I will refund the amount. He opted instead for my giving him a credit. We settled but do I dare say that was more about him then it was about me.

Out of 100 sales he was the only trouble maker.

April Fools Day, has come and gone. So glad it passed on by without incident.

My Daughter and her scare was enough however, that wasn't an April Fools joke as she had righteous intentions.

The Eagle Landed and pooped out my monthly check. Unless I missed it, there's no stimulus check. Harrumph!:mad::mad:

According to my neighbor all the checks for those of us on SSI will be out by the 7th. I laughed and said April Fools. He responded, no that's today. Okay, I don't think he meant that as a April Fools Joke. We shall see.:eek:

    In the meantime I like David's idea.
