Wow! Such a beautiful layout *drools*. Did you scratch build all those trees or buy them? If bought, I'd have to say thats one hell of an investment right there! Keep up the impressive work! -Mark
Very Nice! Thanks for Sharing! 1) How many trees and who made them? 2) Divorce? - You a sicko - Gotta love it. 3) Looking for people in the buildings? Come on - I'm not a voyeur. 4) "Pile-o-Boxes" building, very clever. I'm going to make one for the GandG. In fact, that may be the building for the "Gryphin Locomotive Works" - Renown for Critters and Beasts. 5) The scene with the Red Barns and tank cars. Don't know if it was on purpose but it's a great place to show off prise equipment. 6) "Modules"? Do you take it down or to shows? Seriously, where did you get all of those trees?
Sandro, I like how you transition from trees to backdrop. This is something I'm agonizing over right now, yours looks really good. It's all one big cohesive scene.
1) heki.....my guess is for 5000 trees 2) 3) hey, they're shopping, working.....no dirty things... you a sicko too ;-) 4) - 5) never took pics at this location so far. will improve it a bit. 6) no. modules are just in case i will move. i'm not in a club and don't show my work at shows.
it is easy to do. paint your background blue and dark green. don't paint sharp lines with the green. use a brush and dip it to the wall. this creates the illusion of distant trees. then use white spray paint to tone the transition from the hills to the sky down a bit. make it look like mist/light fog. then use lighter green to create a second hill line. while still wet blow woondland scenics ground foam onto the paint. let it dry. use spray glue (or ordinary woodland scenic cement) on the foremost hills again. blow some more ground foam to it. once dry this will give your background some structure. looks like a distant forest. well, this is how i did my background. hardly noticeable where the module ends and the wall begins. as said , my modules are 40" deep. but i think with this backdrop it looks like a lot more
all bought. they're heki. i can get 50 for chf25 (20$). usually i ordered a 1000 at a time. got some rebate. let's see..... usually paid $300 for 1000 trees
Wow that looks terrific . Do you use pine aroma to bring those scenes up a notch while running the trains ?
