I saw the show and thought Art's layout was extremely well done. I really liked the city. The whole layout had a good "feel" about it, everything blended together.
Art impressed me as the type of fellow you would like to get to know and talk about trains and N scale with.
My only regret is that I did not tape it.

Art was at the 2002 NMRA show in Ft Lauderdale. I went to one of his "make and take" clinics. He's very affable and his products (Bar Mills) seems to be very good too. I've got several of his billboards... but can't seem to get into the mood to build them...sigh :~( .... and they are quite easy to build too.

One of Art's billboards that was in the show was the Hotel St.George which I used to make a billboard for my Hotel Royal Gorge.

Art was a member of my club and still an honorary member. He left when he moved up to Maine and before I joined the club. I have not met him yet, but he is still close friends with some members of the club. Three of the members were just up there a couple of weeks ago and spent the weekend and helped with an NMRA tour. As for the models on the layout, I was told that none of the buildings are Bar Mills, but mostly scratchbuilt.

Art was kind enough to donate 2 new Digitrax boosters to our club. The guys also brought back a nice tip. His layout hadn't really been run much lately before that weekend. He put on the rails a product called No-Ox, just a couple of drops and let the locos spread it around. They said the layout ran flawlessly. I will be trying this soon.

Thanks, that was cool. One of these days I have to make it up to Maine to see it all in person.
