I just recieved the April issue of Model Railroader and saw a small article on page 10 called "Track Plans for Life".... It talks about model railroaders getting their layouts tatooed on their arms..even has a picture of one guy..says it's the latest craze..... April Fools? Has anyone followed the 'craze' yet and gotten their layout tatooed on their body?
Tatooed on their body My wife would more than show me the door if I had any tatto let alone be a tatoo of a train of any kind... :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2:
You mean you don't have the NMRA tatoo? I have scale track pieces tattoed on my body, and I schedule skin grafts when I want to redo my trackplan. I also have piercings of miniature pewter buildings as well. I am awaiting some 1:300/M-scale track to have embedded in my skin, but it's on backorder. mg: I am having legal battles with Hasbro over having "Operation" sessions, though. :embarassed:
the following is close-captioned for the humor-impaired Kalmbach Publications, in association with the A&E Channel, present the newest reality show that deals with tattoo parlors- WALTHERS INK Wonder if I could get Kat Von D to tattoo the Frisco's Cherokee Sub on my back..........
Hmm, Pink fox lines anyone? Or maybe the GandG done my Mike? Hmm, tough call. Any suggestions? Bet Rrrr would be thrilled - er, not
I think your question is sharp and to the point: I'll bet MR is just trying to needle you!mg: Gettin' a 'too is too much for me...but maybe not for someone who is really into track plans for his too 'too trains. :teeth:
Our NTRAK club liked the module track plan on our backs idea. Stand shoulder to shoulder in a circle to show the entire layout.
I must confess I had to turn back to the front cover to check it WAS the April issue (given it's still February in the UK ) The scary thing is that it could actually start a 'craze' for this, though I would hope only with those 'temporary tatoo' things.
EEK! If we are not careful our wifes/husbands will take advantage of this by having them include a DDC chip under the skin and start controling us. mg: mg: mg: mg:
Darren, I believe that was "implanted" on the third finger of my left hand forty-eight years ago......:teeth:
It would be much more interesting if the tattoos were on your butts--you know, more mountainous terrain, and the ladies might like it better. OK, I'll go sit in the corner.
Pete, while reading the MR piece I thought of your three level track plan so recently posted here and wondered where it would fit. Guess you gave us the answer. :shade: Then there's John Berger of Railwire - he rips up part of his layout and changes the track plan on a regular basis... that could get painful. mg:
For the record, I am against all sorts of body mutilation. Nature does its own sort of mutilation here. It's called dry skin. MRR has done some good April Fool's articles, so credit is where credit is due.
