Mike, That farm looks like many that we have in Central Oregon where we farmed for a few years before moving to the Mid West. What you have created looks real as life can be on a small farm / cattle ranch.
Thanks TK and Boiler, I knew I wanted to River and always liked the idea of an irrigation canal because we have so many here. I'm pretty happy with the results. You'll also note that the ditch is clear in the river is murky and a lot of times by the time the ditchwater gets to the field it clears up and loses all of its murkiness so the water in my field has come from way up the river. Thanks to all you guys so much, Mike
Your ranch is very inspirational!!! Love the river and irrigation ditch. I now know what to do with one of my tankcars, fuel for the farm!!!:tb-biggrin:
Here is todays newest video of the Albuquerque Carnuel & Tijeras RR. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yXpEMx4lb0 Thanks , Mike
Mike, Thanks for the video update. Having to dismantle my layout for the move to Lake Charles and knowing I will not have room for a new one for quite a while I am living vicariously through yours and others displayed on Trainboard. It was really hard to take down five years of progress and box up everything. Hopefully when we move back home I can rebuild and once again enjoy my love of trains. Don't be dismayed however because I will have to continue to purchase in order to not miss all the newest goodies I can fondle and dream about running and/or building someday. Thanks again, Doc Geoff
I worked on the turntable and some electrical under the layout and some track work and scenery around the turntable. I also finished an old Period Miniatures cast resin kit for a yard shed. Mike
I have been working on the layout but during periods of drying glue mix I started on the baseball diamond. I am scratch building it on styrene from Little league plans from the net. Mike
Here is the Period Miniatures shed in place as well as some completed ballasting around the engine house and turntable and the instalation of the oil depot from the old layout(with some modifications). Thanks , Mike
Mike, That ball field is an outstanding non railroad scenic idea, I like it. As always what you come up with is very creative.
