I've seen postings on other forums and this one, is there anyone out there that can truthfully substantiate the claims that it will arrive next month?

There was a post about a month or so back that someone got a glimpse of a prototype unit during a factory tour or at a convention (I cant remember exactly), but their report suggested everything is on track for the September/October release date.

Me, Me, I can, I can.

I willfully, advise and substantiate that until it gets here, it's not here yet.

Be patient and be careful Kader, the manufacturer that owns Bachmann is the one contracted to produce the AC12. I'd approach it red over yellow. Once you feel you have the green, then go for it.

Oh...and...I'm one of those who can't wait for it to get here.

    Have fun!

    Well, lets see -
    Work's been slow, money's a little tight...
I have an El Capitan and the three remaining UP heritage locos supposed to arrive in October...
    The truck needs new tires...
So yes, I expect my two Cab Forwards to arrive, too. :)

Several times in the film, an exasperated Julius II – impatiently waiting for Michelangelo to complete his task of painting a religious fresco on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel – confronts the painter with one simple question."When will you make an end?" Michelangelo's consistent response is "When I am finished!"

I was told by a reliable source that February 2010 is the target. But who knows.

Everything I have heard about them comes from Some Guy. Some Guy doesn't always know what he is talking about. Since there hasn't been a huge buzz of excitement at my LHS, I am thinking that Bob's source is probably the most reliable I have heard.

That's fine with me as I had a couple of big unexpected set backs. I just hope they did a good job on this baby. I don't mind waiting if everything turns out right.

I think they must be waiting to see if I get an end-of-year bonus at work. That's not necessarily a given, considering the current economy.

    Or...when hell freezes over.

Aw shucks that's just one up man ship. Sorry about that.

Seriously, they will get here when they get here. If we get excited and anxious all the better for them...up goes the price.

Well, I'm not exactly optimistic about the final out come. Not holding my breath.

Like Westfalen, I'm looking for those crummies.

Have fun, relax and know assuredly they will get here, when they get here.:pcute:

It doesn't involve me any, but that's not true. Kader is NOT producing the AC12, and never was...FYI.

    Oh really, that's odd,

Me thought I read all about it hear on this board.

See this thread and quote below: Open letter to Bachmann - TrainBoard.com

    From the pen of Skipgear:
""Bachmann's parent company is Kader. Kader is the manufacture of the motor and the mechanism so they have control of the complete assembly process. Kader also recently bought SandaKan (sp?) from bankruptcy so they now own the manufacturing facilities for Atlas, IM, and many other model items along with what they already manufactured.""

I have faith in what Skipgear says here and I've learned to trust what he says.

    It proves......you decide.

As a current manufacturer, and one who's been to the exact factory where the AC12's are being produced, AND seen them in person IN the factory... I can assure you, Kader is not involved. For the record, we use two different factories - so does Intermountain and a number of other companies.

Again, no big deal, but don't believe everything you hear or read...

    Craig,

Without violating any sorts of agreements you may be a party to regarding confidentiality or whatever, did the AC-12's look like they were heading into a shipping container soon or did they look quite a long ways off still?

    Got it! LOL!

I know these sorts of free-flowing release dates play havoc with my favorite LHS. Typically, pre-payments are not necessary on pre-orders (on some oddball items they are, and some customers have apparently ended up on pre-pay only lists). He doesn't know what to tell his customers, and sometimes when things arrive suddenly a lot of customers end up taking a month or two to pay them off.

Oh well. We'll wait and see.

    Craig,

Thank you for the update. I appreciate your come back.

So how does the AC 12's look to you?

    Follow up question...grin!

Will they be worth the wait?

Observation: The key word or comment here is "Two different factories". Momma Corporation owning both. My guess.
