Just to get off the round numbers, here's UP Challenger 3947 for my message of the same number. From the collection of John McGovern. Happy New Year.
Post 3977 with another of UP's finest, Challenger 3977 on display where? Cheyenne? I have tried unsuccessfully to contact the owner of this print to get his permission to use it, so it may disappear. Thanks STEVE484.
Boy, howdy this one was sure tough to come up with. Tough to pick one of the many photos I have of this monster. Decided on the latest action one I got at Junction City, OR, with Doyle at the throttle (and the invevitable daisy picker).
The higher the post number the harder it is to find images. Hope others at the lower post numbers will keep this topic going.
Wow! 4000. Unfortunately, New York Central's 4000 series were diseasals. Here is NYC 4000, an EMD E-7, which NYC called DPA-1a. Fortunately, this Leslie Ragan painting portrays the 4000 in Chicago with some real good company, an S class Niagara and two J class streamlined Hudsons. Ragan's painting is from 1946, titled "For the Public Service".
I know I have posted this before, but I can't help it. I LIKE this picture. From the collection of John McGovern. It's a UP company pic.
Okay, first of all, I'm hanging my head in shame that it has taken me 5 1/2 years to get to this point. With that said, I wanted to post some pics that went along with my 767th post and also match my member number - 767. Enjoy. This shot is from "QStation.org"...... This is from the "Boeing" web site.... and one from railroadpicturearchives"......
