    Harold,
Thats interesting! The SD-18's sure look like a Hi-Nose design! But the interesting is the ALCO tri-Mount trucks on a EMD loco! Anyway good reading!

However, did C&O have a large roster of them ??? I'm not to familar with C&O and the whole diezul era. HA! :D Steam for the C&O is slightly different! BUT the Steam AND diezul for the B&O is one of my better knowledges! :D

SD18's were built as high and low nosed units... one would expect them to be high nosed, based on their SD7 / SD9 appearance.

C&O bought 19 of the 54 unit production SD18's, but their units were truly unique, with the low nose and Alco truck trade ins. They were originally numbered 1800-1818, but later moved to 7300-7318.

    John,
I had thought seriously about making some SD18's as well as GP39's... however, I have since moved my modeling era forward, so it is not currently a need. I do think it would be a great modeling project. I think someone produced both in brass in HO years ago.

    Harold,
I wouldn't even bother with brass.. To much for this guys wallet. So. I'd do mine in plastic....And have the grace and fun of doing my own custom work just for the enjoyment of it. and being able to say. "I made that" ya know.. I just like to customize things from one thing to something real and all by my own 2 hands... I'm currently working on a Chessie Steam Special in HO... I have ta! Its Steam! with a Chessie paint job. you know how me and steam is.... HA! :D I've got tons of projects happening.. And alot in the beginning "plan" stages, some near half done other almost completed.... I get alot started and finish them up as I go being, I take breaks from one thing to the next. that way it doesn't get old or boring and all... Keeps it all interesting (I can't think of how to spell the word I'm thinking of here) HA! But I get everything done I start sooner or latter so... I enjoy it all...

John, I think the word you were trying to spell is:

    "NEW"

I had to look it up too!

I think we had the same teacher, but I never got into those big words.

It means "to keep work "exciting", to prevent that work from becoming
    monotonous, wearisome or uninteresting,
    as in watching grass grow."

    Just teasing John! :D

THANKS Watash ole buddy! Thats the word I was thinking of but couldn't seem to spell! HA! To keep the one or any one project from being monotonous, so.. I switch and start others and when they gets close to monotonous, I go back to the first one, or start another one.. All depends on how I feel! HA! Sure makes the hobby more interesting. And keeps the brain working! I've done this along time. I can remember doing this and having 15 projects started of my own and in 2 months all were completed! :D

Same teacher.... to me she was a good one..... cared that her students got an "ed-u-ca-tion" HA! Watash, your a barrel of laughs.. Thats what males your character funny and pleasnt to be around... :D HE HE HE HE HE
