Here, I've used a thin slurry of Gypsolite to texture the bed of the canal. Then I painted it with a dark green wash and some acrylic highlights...
This building isn't quite done, but the next step will be cutting out the foam where I've marked the canal walls in black.
Finally got it painted - next comes the most important step - weathering!
