N scale LifeLike SD7 in Black Widow, renumbered from the as-delivered-by LifeLike 5321, to number 5322: Yes, I know the DF-118 class SD7 SP Black Widows in this number range, should have steam generators details on short hood, and barrel can headlights..... if I can ever find any of those out-of-production Sunrise Enterprise N scale parts, I'll add them.
Nice loco! That's a great looking loco. Also needs cab window sunshades and a triple chime horn on the top of the cab roof. Now, tell me. Why would they stop making the sunrise enterprises detail parts? I'll never understand the marketing philosophy of this industry, design something people want, makes the molds, then don't use them! wazzup wit dat?...dave
I thought I heard that the guy that owned Sunrise was retiring - still bad news for us SP modelers. Here's a shot that I posted to my Railimages account. I took this picture in Modesto, CA in 1998. The trackage is UP/ex Tidewater Southern, and less than a year later UP abandoned this track in favor of the parallel SP main that runs 1/2 block to the west. Why they would want to abandon this stretch of high speed running is a true mystery:
Dan at Sunrise was having health problems after an accident, and could no longer make the parts. He is going to continue doing the signals until he can no longer do them.
Yeah, I am kicking myself that I did not pick up more when I had the chance. Here I added the steam generator details to some GP-9s.
An AC-6 meets its older sibling AC-4 on a siding. The AC-6 is an early version, so it is need of refitting to fit my late 40's era.
Dave n- Great job, but what's that you say about un-weathered Espee units? Next thing, you'll be telling me you saw Bigfoot down in Roswell! Seriously, great job on all of the units, even the clean ones!
I don't think MT has done any stock cabeese with the radio equipped logo. Custom paint or custom run?
Here's some 'widows Here's one of my F7 sets.. And a couple of pre ashcan SD7's.. Hope Y'all like 'em, Wolf
