Second cars side glued. Once these set I will add the other sides and then file and cut to make everything square and nice. (As best as I can get it anyway.)
Jerry - Wow, amazing work! This is going to be one of the best n scale scratchbuilds of all time, for sure. I remember seeing the Freedom Train at NAS Miramar in San Diego. There is a branch from the Santa Fe that leaves the mainline at Miramar hill, and serves some industries north of the base, and a spur that went onto the base (not sure if it's still there, it was in the early '90's when I was in the Navy). Anyway, I remember the train being pretty awesome. Can't wait to see it in n! The update pix are great - keep them coming!
And here's both cars with underframes. Tomorrow I will add the interior walls, and finish the floor. Then they will be ready for some paint.
Looking at this angle the floor is almost perfect with the bottom of the window. A little filing here and there should help out. Alot of it is just my poor cutting on the windows.
While the Display cars are setting up, I decided to work on the Kato Sleeper. Here's the undecorated model with skirting. The real one did not have the middle skirt.
The 4449 is being featured on Trains and Locomotives right now on RFDTV, in it's Freedom Train garb. Lots of nice shots in the Pacific Northwest running... Dan
Today while railfanning I caught these odd containers on a few flats. I had to get in closer for a better look.
