Track gang, with approval from the CFO's(Mom/Dad) were able to purchase the last 5 Atlas C55 turnouts needed to complete my HCD layout! With 1 extra added. Probably for an engine house spur. Different structure thread there as it is!
I just picked up 2 dcc equipped locos an atlas SD24 and a kato SD40 both in union pacific neither loco will run on dc does anyone know how I can get them to?
Hawk unless you got a ddc power unit and throttle you cant run a ddc loco on dc setup. So your two options are go ddc or convert your new locos back to dc set up if possible.
thanks the idea is to go all dcc soon. I aslo have a dcc challenger and nw2 just have to chip my e9 a and b unit and sd45 also does anyone know if its possible to chip an athearn old time 2-6-0?
I have seen that one for sale. How does it look in person? Is it a modified casting from a Kato SD45?
If you want to run them on DC until you go DCC full time, you could swap in a DC lightboard. I have a bunch of DC lightboards and I'm sure I have ones that would fit what you need.
Well I just ordered a Tomix cleaning car. I though it's make things a bit easier for me since i'm not that active I won't be working to clean the rails then by the time i'm done I'm wanting to go do something else.. I stopped in the hobby shop a couple days ago, and was disappointed as usual in the selection.. But that's a whole different rant.. got to find a decent mail order site so I don't have to mess around with feebay..
I just bought the three Pacific Great Eastern (ex-Milwaukee) passenger cars from Fox Valley. Well actually, I was fortunate to have a couple of gift cards, so, really, someone else bought them. Very colorful and nice looking. Hopefully they run well. I will have to post photos when I can.
While not exactly a train, it IS related! Got another locomotive builders plate. Started life as: Penn Central GP40 #3113 -> Conrail #3113 -> Rio Grande #3173 -> Rio Grande #3131 Yep, an original DRGW "smurf"! My second Rio Grande builders plate. First one is from Rio Grande ALCo S2 #108. Still trying to find out if its still around. Last I saw, it was in use by Weirton Steel. I don't know anything after that. Any help with additional information on the 108 is much appreciated!! Thanks.
I finally found and was able to purcahse a second Key Imports ATSF F-3 AB set. And- the additional detailing has begun. Road numbers (Thanks- Bruce), windshield wipers, diaphrams and front couplers. Thanks, Wolf
Last couple of purchases have been from both sides of the pond. From the UK, I picked up a Dapol GWR 57xx class pannier tank engine. This is my new favorite steam locomotive. It runs without issue, fast or slow, forward or reverse. Much nicer than the Dapol Hall class 4-6-0 I also got recently. It's become a turntable queen due to its herky-jerky running. I also "accidentally" won an Atlas FM H-16-44 on eBay. I thought I would be outbid, but no. It's a good runner as well, fast or slow, forward or reverse. It has neat lamps that glow green on the forward end of the loco and red on the rear end of the loco, and reversing direction reverses the color of the lamps.
Just purchased Bachmann 4-6-0 in C&NW (that will be "fixed" later !!!). This thing is SWEET !!! So much different than my B-mann 4-8-4 from the early 80s !!!
Used gift certificate at the LHS, got a Kato #6 left, an Atlas MP-15 in G&W, some paint and the 2015 Walther's catalog.
