Jerry, One bit of advice. I know it's a little late now but for your next steam adventure, (I'm sure there will be another), you may want to use a little finer wire for the sander lines. When you get around to painting them, the paint build up will make them look heavier.
Yikes! Better declare an emergency, and evacuate the State! :tb-tongue::tb-tongue::tb-tongue: Boxcab E50
Good advice Tony...didnt think of that one! I thought in a different direction....black would make it look smaller....kinda like a try to do with my belly and black shirts.
I decided to add these number boards before bed. Not the exact style ATSF used, but you know my motto...."Close enough is good enough".
Nice work, Jerry. Kitbashing on steamers is something I haven't tried before. When I got that Kato Mikado through the Year of the Tiger sale, I got an extra shell to try to bash. It'll be a while before I work up to it, though.
Jerry, Nice looking steamer. The brass parts look familiar, are they from the vast assortment on ebay? I'm glad you had luck purchasing the shell from bmann, last time I dealt with their customer service, they were less than helpful. Look forward to seeing it to completion.
Yes, the brass parts are from the EBay collection. Wish I would have got more of the number boards....they went fast. LOL
Jerry, I'm coming to your house for some kitbashing lessons! I want to turn my 4-8-2 into an SP MT4 but am too chicken to try!
I ended up with quite a few parts from them. Smoke box covers, blowdown spreaders, and assorted other bits. That sale was a kitbasher's dream.
That is some great work on the #3303! Yours also shows how many different Mountain types there were. When can I backshop my #3303 to Alabama? -LOL Lookin' good!
PLEASE, where you find these numberboards? I can't find anywhere! Any trick/link ? Enzo OPS, I have to read "every" post ! You find it on e-bay, correct?
