Hey Jerry, glad ta see you made it back..like the new units...if I can, one quick question, who was it that did the custom units there?? How do I get in touch with him?? There are a couple I might want if he still has them..thanks...
From what I hear while listening to the Athearn Rep they are coming in at $3 cheaper than MT's ($28-$29 MSRP). Should be out by AUgust as stated
On the Athearn's caboose, are the antenna attached or do you have to do it yourself like the MTs? We should have the Model Contest photos posted on the convention website by this weekend and will auto run like a slide presentation. I will post the individual slides to my site shortly.
OK... here are the NScale 2009 Model Contest Winners: http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/album.php?albumid=602 and here are some shots of Rob Carey’s Tennessee Pass and Royal Gorge Route that I shot before the tours. Unfortunately I did not have time to visit the rest of the layouts even though they are in my own backyard. :tb-biggrin: http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/album.php?albumid=603
I couldn't load up any pictures :tb-hissyfit: for some reason on RI. I loaded them elsewhere & I'll post them here tomorrow. Is there a problem with RI tonight?
JD, those SP and Santa Fe diesels look nice! The Santa Fe caboose doesn't look too bad, either. Can't wait to see the pics from convention-goers. BTW, the Northeast Oklahoma N Scalers are going to Houston next year, and I hope to go with them. If I put my vacation request in now...........
Does anyone know who the custom painter is in Jerry's photo's that painted up those SD70ace's?? And how I can get in touch with him??? Thanks in advance...
I looked at the units he was displaying and was really impressed! Great work! I wish I could afford a fleet of his work. Instead, I walked out with 4 boxcars and 4 Atlas engines for the price of one of his beautiful engines.
I put the photos I posted from the convention all in one album. I just realized I did not get many of N scale models but mostly prototype. Oh well....
You mean the one of the diesel that belonged to the D&H at one time. I think (correct me if I am wrong) this may have been D&H one time too.
Hey Russ, You can admit it now. You had more fun in the dome once you came downstairs with us, didn't ya!
I seem to recall that when my wife and I came down, you left to go up topside for a while. Were we that loud and obnoxious?
Hi, Hien Ngyuen can be contacted at: tin1197@yahoo.com Here's some photos from his locos 2 years ago at Hartford 2007: The following photo, from 2007, is Hien building and painting one of the Grant Eastman kits on a Kato SD40 mechanism, the following is *not* a Athearn F45! He's a great guy and a great loco painter.
