Nice pick-ups! Especially the Daylight scheme engines. What else did Hein have at the convention? Since we missed it, I just want to get an idea of what we missed. :tb-biggrin:
He had several ATSF GP60M A & B units, KCS units in the new scheme, CSX, Bi-Centennial units, the Daylights, and one Marask unit Mike (SecretWeapon picked up.)
Are they fully detailed or just the custom paint? What was he asking for them if you don't mind me aasking? Glad I didn't go now, that would have been an expensive trip.... Thanks, Brian
Sorry I missed you Jerry. I did get to meet Mike on Sunday at the show and Hemi on Wednesday on one of the Layout tours! :tb-smile:
Fully detailed....lift rings, fans, wipers, etc. Prices were from $250-$375 depending on the unit, but well worth it. His work is really fantastic.
Yea, I was hoping to meet you too. Mike said he met you, and I did get to meet Hemi and his family. Going to Houston?
The MT caboose is nice, but IMHO, these are better. Painted railings, screens on the windows, free standing railings. Beautifully done. Another winner from Athearn.
I'm going to keep the two I kitbashed some time ago....but these are going to save me ALOT of work! LOL I plan on getting a fleet of these.
Hey Guys, Again, it was great seeing & meeting everybody!! I would've posted sooner but I had my buddy Mike look at the GS-4 I picked up. Major issues! So bad it going back to Kato. Scott, JD became Hien's best friend. I only bought 1 engine from him & its a beauty. I'll post a picture tomorrow sometime. I also got one from Charlie Hopkins. A C40-8 CR/NS patch job. Very nice also.
Sorry, should have been more specific in asking price. I meant the price of the Athearns caboose. Indeed, very nice looking.
