Never! I would never destroy one of his cars. I have a unpainted PS2. I wouldnt want to upset the Maestro.
Gerd, a PS-2 is a hopper. Just as all PS-1 are boxcars. The cd just tell us it has center discharge rather then a side discharge.
The only problem with all the "grain hoppers" available (except for the FR which is another story ie. price) is that they aren't grain hoppers. Since they have round hatches, the cars are used to carry commodities like potash, plastic pellets etc. Trur grain hoppers have trough hatches to make loading easier at the elevator. If AZL gets their end ladders and roof walks more to scale it will be a winner.
Wslco, that is why I have so many FR Hoppers. Maybe we can get Robert to make a through hatch for Uncle Wills hoppers. Also, EDS Models three bay hopper has through hatch. Sometimes, you just have to do with what you have.
haha! I am making troff hatches (I don't know how to spell trough) I need them for my 4 bay Will Wright hopper mod.
Robert--would you like to share some of the "troff" hatches with us mear mortals who don't have a lazer.
I will make a bunch of them for you all. I just have to find a topside photo from a few different cars so I get the different styles correct!
all regarding this saskatchewan hopper i strongly suggest that you all immediately stop posting pictures and discussing any custom paint offers. steve wiedmer did one in n-scale and got into deep problems. it is not pwrs beeing involved. there are far bigger companies holding copyrights and such. there's a good chance that their lawyers will file a copyright abuse to anyone custom painting such cars. again, this is a really serious warning. trust me. i know what i'm talking but unfortunately i am not allowed to tell you all the details. just one thing. there's far more behind all that than this one paint scheme. think in huge dimensions. hundreds of cars. dozens of paint schemes. dozens of billions of dollars for painting these cars. it is a unique plan. don't disturb it. otherwise it will have a great impact on our hobby.
I think you can give away things you make, and you can accept gifts from others too! Just as long as it's not currency right?
Very beautiful paint and decal job. Is it scratchbuilt, or is it a FR model. To me it looks like the latter.
Hi Harold, they are made from parts supplied by FR and assembled by myself, not RTR. Would never repaint an original FR, you would not repaint a Dali or Rembrandt, or?
