    Never been there, but I seem to recall something about Birchwood. A RR owned equipment storage yard, outside of Anchorage?

    I'd never heard of the place until I found that slide. But that would seem to make sense as that SW1 was scrapped the same year that photo was taken and the locos that surround it were also, by that point, living on borrowed time.

    Well, here they are, the last two slides out of the long red slide box.
