I just bought an Atlas Southern 40' boxcar and a Micro-Trains Chicago Great Western 39' tank car on eBay. Hmm... it's official now. Kiz is bankrupt...
They are out! I'll try and post some pics of them tonight. Also got yet another Solid Cold mechanical reefer from Athearn
Some people must have Pre-Ordered them. I'll have to try that one day, never have yet Looking forward to the pictures! I'm excited about these, me thinks?
I did not pre-order exactly... I requested to be notified when they arrive. Good thing I acted quickly... they evaporated within a day.
I got home from Virginia and it was like X-Mas in November! Actually I had ordered a few things before I left and they all arrived when I was away. Here is the new Kato Tram set. It’s the same as the V50 set as far as I can tell but a lot cheaper. You are prolly wondering why is Massey showing off hardware in a train forum as a new purchase… Well these are the new stainless steel feet for my T-trak modules and I put little nylon acorn nuts on the “bottoms”. These will be a big improvement over the nylon feet I had before. Here are the decoders for my Saphir Odirico train. Here is my latest tram. It’s a LEX with flowers. It may look familiar to some of you, and if you were to say it looks like the MyTram you would be right. This is the prototype for the generic looking MyTrams that Kato brought to the US. I had to jump on the 50’s anniversary bandwagon for Micro Trains. There are a couple more things that arrived but I have not unwrapped them yet so they will pop up later.
Well not having much luck posting the photos, but the new AMTRAK GE P42 Genesis Locomotives #160 50th Anniversary Phase II Scheme, and #108 in the cool Blue & Red Phase V. I also got the full set of the New York Central 20th Century passenger train. The cool think about that is that I do have a NYC Hudson steamer that can pull it as well.
I still have my instruction sheet (if you can call it that). It's just one sheet (front and back) and it's mainly just an exploded parts view with a few "helpful hints" on the back.Let me know if you need one.
David.... Cellphone photos do that. It seems I-Phone images are the worst ! I use >>> Faststone Image Viewer <<<. Find your pic in the viewer. Open it... right click..and rotate it. When saving the image do NOT just save over the original image. Save it with a new name. Saving it over the original file will not get rid of the original attributes...such as photo orientation. JMO.
a pair of these, since the furnace I had installed in 2020 is out. Again. Can't wait for this thing to be out of warranty so I can do the minor repairs and tweaks myself.
David... I took your image...IMG_1023[1].JPG...and flipped it vertically in faststone image viewer and saved it as...amtrak01.jpg. It looks fine now. JS.
My photos of the WS traffic signals were also at the wrong perspective for viewing. I loaded them to my Railimages album and rotated them clockwise. They look fine in the Railimages album but will not upload to Trainboard rotated.
I got one of those folding four-wheel carts/wagons to haul all my train stuff to train shows. Had been using a folding two-wheel dolly but it was less than desirable in handling all my stuff. The cart works just fine.
Well, a tad later than I thought on taking and posting these pics. They look a little aged up close and One thing I can live with but am not a fan of is the traffic light housings are green and I think yellow would be better.
Picked up some things online on sale…pretty sure I don’t need any more containers but here they are. The gons were $14 each, typically around $30-35 and even if they aren’t quite prototypical (according to the website) I like the way they run and how they look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I picked up two of the old Bachmann train set 2-8-2s for lowball bids. Both run after a little TLC, so they will probably become 2-8-0s with Vanderbilt tenders. Also, picked up another Athearn 2-6-0, [man those things are sweet] and some box car shells to replace some extra stock cars I had sitting idle. Anybody want some extra stock car shells?
Well here is the rest of the new stuff, NYC E7a's And the cars of the New York Central 20th Century Limited
Apparently Green was the color in the 1940's and 1950's and that's what WS said they were modeled after. Meaning if these do well, and I think they will. They should introduce some more modern ones, I guess?
