After setting extra lighting and adjusting the tri-pod I smelt the distinct burning electrical smell... YIKES! Straight to the soldering iron I go. No, not those, they're cold. Check my Tech II. No, it's powered off. Panic sets in, fearful flames are surely going to erupt. Follow the smell, lower, lower, down to the floor. It's the power adaptor for my Cool Pix 800. Damn! And no batteries in the house. Thank God the camera itself was not damaged. So here's one from the archives. In the same vein as the sugar plant and warehouses this is my Purina Chow plant.
Great shots, all! I ripped out part of the new layout because the pink foam wasn't straight Then I'm gone for another week... All that to say: no pictures... yet!
A new shot from me, Tunnel 7 on the real Moffat Route--SD70M leads a dog's breakfast lashup of DC EMD's and AC GE's on a westbound manifest:
Got a little spring cleaning done around the engine house today. I wrapped up the weathering on this GWS car today.
I am supremely envious. Everyone here shows Models, Scenery, Photography skills. Of course, everyone starts from the beginning, so I offer a progress shot of my module. This is the semi-portable (must be, it's outside ) Module I'm working on so I can run trains without having to finish my Layout. It offers many useful opportunities: </font> Test loop for new engines</font> Programming track for new DCC installs</font> Test environment for new techniques in construction / scenery</font> A place to run trains while the rest of the layout is in pieces</font> Maybe in a few months, I'll have some scenery to approach all those you show me. (Or I'll get JMRI working better and just play with computer controlled trains )
sitchad Good to see 200014 in revenue service. I wasn't thinking, I should have got pictures of the car being spotted on the interchange track, much like Wile-E is doing with 200013
I thought it might be interesting to see complete layouts. Now for those of us with small layouts it's easy to get an overall view in one picture. Here is mine, pay no attention to the ladder.
Sitchad, I've always thought from your photos that your layout was much bigger. Nice work! Is it built in a spare bedroom? As a fellow Californian, it gives me hope on what I can build in a spare room!
SNFF 5 1 05 Lately, between being a husband and tending to work, I've not had time to do much at all, let alone to create new or different angles on my photos. However, I am working on scenic improvements to hide the dividing line between the two modules. Regardless, while on a recent business trip, I managed to find an additional set of Kato Santa Fe Warbonnet F7s, so as to add an additional B unit to the set. Accordingly, here is an A-B-B-B-A set of Santa Fe F7s on train number 7, the westbound Fast Mail, dropping downgrade in Arizona towards Needles, Calif: Take care, all!
