Has the forum changed color (grey headings instead of orange)? Or am I missing something. Just wondering on a rainy night.
Software Upgrade You will be finding many changes as the latest software upgrade is in place... :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:
I like the gray but it loads orange first, then changes to gray. That flash of color change is a bit annoying. Otherwise I like it although the orange did give it a bit of character all it's own. No other forums that I visit use orange, many use shades of gray.
Some folks thought the orange was distracting. We would be interested in hearing what people like or don't like. Charlie
Slow learner here OK I have to ask what is all the book marks about? I seen it but with little internet time I have not looked in to what it does.:cowboy:
Orange is TB's trademark color, since I have joined in 2001, it's been orange. To me, TB should always be orange, but YMMV...
As many of you have noticed, we are trying an experimental change this week with the background gradient on the site (changing from the orange/yellow to a gray color). We would like you opinion of this change.
My opinion: 1. It looks classy. 2. It is easier to read 3. It is easier on the eyes than the orange. I LIKE IT!!!:thumbs_up::thumbs_up:
I am easy to please. :sheep:I have no objections to either color scheme. I suppose the new look would be less offensive to some.:clover:
I don't have a strong opinion either way regarding the difference between the orange/yellow and gray. I think I kinda like the orange since I've never really had a problem with the scheme before. What I would like to see change is the background. Not that it's bad, I just am not a big fan of background images to begin with, and at very least I'd change it to give TB a fresh look. And I'd like to see an option for a more mobile friendly (iPhone, et al) version of TB as well, but I digress. And digressing further, the 30-second search limit kills me on a daily basis.
We've had this background since the beginning. I'm not sure what people's feelings are about that but I know some folks are attached to it. We are always open to suggestions. I had considered something different but discarded it. That will be coming in the not-too-distant future. Charlie
Color I can get used to any thing BUT I'm with Doug^ on the 30second thing. I suppose I could be trained to learn to count to 30:sarcastic:
I understand about the Bots, but 30 seconds? Or, if there is a way to exclude certain searches. For example, the "24 Hours of Trainboard" is considered a search. So, I click on that and within 2-3 seconds I can scan and see if anything is of interest. Then, it's 27 seconds I have to wait before I can do anything else. The other thing is the "24 Hours" cannot be bookmarked. I guess it builds its URL based on a time/date stamp on the server. The side menu is difficult to hit with the iPhone, and the other alternative is scroll to the bottom for the BIG icons. And heaven forbid I accidentally double tap the 24 Hour link/icon. "YOU MUST WAIT 30 SECONDS..." Arggghhh!!! Yes, I've become quite adept at counting while on Trainboard... "One-Mississippi, Two-Mississippi..." By the way, I must admit I think the grey is growing on me. I'm now leaning that direction, if you are keeping score. EDIT: Just wanted to say, I hope my comments are considered "constructive criticism". I'm certainly not bent out of shape about anything. Do nothing and I'm a happy camper, just figured I'd throw in my two cents about some very minor things.
