I don't get to see much Conrail or UP in North Dakota, so please keep it coming! I do see scattered NS and CSX units fairly frequently as run-thru power on BNSF & CP. Here's one. A westbound manifest passes the construction site to soon erect floodwalls and levees along the Souris River in Minot, ND.
You also captured a B&O CPL signal there, which is a welcome sight and is something that is now gone or will be soon.
This segment of the IAIS sees 6-8 trains a day(not including the extras). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I would look for a cornerstone to see if it has a date when it was built on it. Most older buildings will have one.
Get it today, cause it'll probably be gone tomorrow...... I'm always taking pics of random things, just in case.
I try to catch such things too. SAL bungalow, McBee, SC (pronounced MAC-bee) taken almost exactly five years ago. With the many train curtailments on CSX, I've had no reason to return to see if it's still there. PTC wiped out a lot of old signal infrastructure.
It detects any equipment that drags off of a rail car.(straps, wheel axles.....etc) It then will read out the location of the defect via the radio. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In the case of a hotbox detector which are often adjacent, the radio transmission sounds like this: http://www.n8rrb.com/trains/sounds/csxdd5.3hotbox.wav
