Here's another one from Bogota Colombia SA. Hopefully someday, the money will come and this engine will see the rails again.
Thank you. The one piece windshield must have been a design feature of the era. Early U25s had them too, but they were eliminated in favor of a two piece design because of the expense if broken. The Santa Fe's GP20s led successful lives. My wife and I saw them in mainline service in the late '90s in NM and AZ. Heck, they may still be out there lugging.
Very true. They designed them to have a one piece automobile style view ahead. But money when broken....

Found a Northbound "stinky" at MP26.4x in Sumner. Luckily on an unusually warm day today,(80 degrees!!), it was empty!! No stink!
John, your lokie is fabricated to look like a steamer, but the louvers on what is positioned like a boiler, sure look like a diesel hood. OK, just looked at the rest of your photos. I guess they were ashamed to admit it was a Plymouth, and wanted to hoodwink the "tourists" into thinking they were being hauled by a steamer. Oh Lord, deliver me from overly avaricious marketing and PR folks.
Taken by a friend and posted with permission is a circa 1976 shot of ex-N&W Alco C-628 C&NW 6712 at what is probably Stephenson, MI. The C&NW deployed 30 of these units in moving heavy ore trains.
Yup, and they can be pretty foul if your close to the tracks, or it stops in a siding-that can get really bad!!
Nothing like a good garbage scow to open up the sinus. LOL And for sure one you don't want to spend much time around.
