Some more pictures. Kato had their new TTX Maxi IV on display. Period Miniatures showed this auto transporter, which looks like the perfect companion to Kel's new autorack ramp (Mocalova).
On a different tack, here are pictures of a few contest entries. I just picked a random few to reflect in general the awesome level of detailing now done in N scale. Those entries not shown were mostly because others crowded the displays, making it hard to get a good view. Mike Skibbe entered this Santa Fe passenger car: Mark Jirousek scratch-built this Chicago Great Western passenger car from styene and basswood, complete with interiors: Oscar Arietta entered this aircraft transporter, complete with pictures of prototype:
John Widmar's aircraft museum has been shown before, but the detail on this contest entry remains amazing, to say the least. Here's an overall shot with the roof removed so we can see the insides: And here's a shot that shows the detail in three of the rooms: Look at (from left to right) wall mirrors above the basins, soap dispensers for each basin, stall door, books on the bookshelf, all wastebaskets actually have waste in them, in and out boxes have papers in them, desktop lamp has power cord, and more... And here are three entries for on-line structures:
N Scale Supply, which is located right outside Denver, posted pictures on its website. BTW, despite the early announcement, the UMTRR for September will be on its regular publishing schedule since I am otherwise committed the remainder of this month.
Here's a model of UP's Cheyenne coaling station. Unfortunately I forgot to note the modeler's name (careful - when you get older it'll happen to you too!! ) Here are two shots of an incredible module by the New Mexico Rail RunNers:
Buzz Lenander entered this N Scale of Nevada Piggy Packer: Some motive power contest entries. First up, Joe Cox's Santa Fe CF-7: And here's a DRGW steamer John Widmar built to a specific prototype from a Micro-Ace 0-6-6-0 (blurred picture of the man himself in the background )
Not to take anything away from anyone else, and only because I have not seen or met anyone else whose work is displayed thus far, but I'm really glad that John Widmar's layout was open during the N-Con and that he brought some of his outstanding work to display. I had the honor of visiting John's layout while on business in Denver a few years ago. He is not only a shining example of what can be done in N Scale, but an absolute gentleman as well.
I have been waiting for this one for a long time. William, thanks for sharing the news with us and taking the time to publish the pictures.
I'm gonna have to get one of those.. That's a sweet model.. Kel Tired after 10 hours of operating trains

Brilliant photographs guys and William that evening looked like a great evening with some of the trainboard guys,
Just got back from the N Scale convention.....lots of photos to download! What an absolute great time! The modeling was great, the displays were great, and I could go on and on! A big Thank You to William Cowie. Your generosity and friendship has been the best part of this trip. It was an honor joining you at your home for the best BBQ in Colorado! More to come......need to unpack, and download the camera!
They must've all been sworn to secrecy Steve, :zip: either that, or they're all standing in line at the airport still waiting to have their shoes X-rayed!
I didn't attend the breakfast.....I WAS in line about that time! Lines were very long at the Denver Airport. But, better safe then sorry!
