Last nigt, I prepared .020" fiber optics for the lights front/rear, and started preparing the lead sheet for installation.
I got half of the shells weighted. Man, they will be heavy! I cut slabs 5 scale feet tall, and cut them to length to fit between the shell spacer ribs. Pics later!
I used Walther's GOO to secure them.

I finished the weighting last night--the engines weigh at least 3-4 times as much as a standard Kato SD40. They are HEAVY. Perhaps 8-12 ouces apiece? They should pull the paint off the walls!

    No pics yet, maybe tonite.

    F45 build COMPLETE!!!!!

    They are DONE!!!

    Wahoo! Yeehaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    *dances a jig*

A few generic pics, until I have handle them enough for photos on the layout:

Somewhere in the house is the actual glazing for these kits, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I used Micro Kristal Kleer instead. I also used Microscale Liquid Decal Film to secure the windshield wipers and cab side window frames.

MT 1015 couplers and Sunrise windshield wipers were the last items added. The wipers supplied with the fret got lost when I cut one of them, and went to visit all the MT coupler springs that make that "sproink" noise as they enter hyperspace, and are lost forever.....

When the MKK cures, the glazing should be clear.

Very nice Hemi! I think the added details do make a difference. Well worth the time and energy! I will be up to see them run in person hopefully this summer!

That makes two of us! Once the MKK cures, I should be able to handle them more.

Thanks, guys! Mike--I'm ready when you are!

They look great. Will also look great on the layout moving a priority freight to St. Paul.

Those turned out awesome. Now you just need to add a couple of BSB SD45's behind each one of those.

Great looking F45's there. The GN plan for the F45's was to have one of them leading as many SD45 as needed for the train. I'm not real sure but a GE U33C might also fit in the works too.
Real good looking power there. Excellent job.

GE U33C's were delivered in the same paint as well. They indeed would look good with the cowls!

I need to get better photos now.....

How do they pull now with the added weight?

I really don't know! I'd have to completely clean the layout, wipe the tracks down, and test them out to see just what they will pull. I need to do all that anyhow, since I'm gonna start some scenery again, and need to empty the trains off to keep them from betting filthy.

As this is a rare item, there is one of these for sale on the yahoo Groups N Scale Yard Sale list. I see it says SAR on the box, but I think this is the Kaslo Shops kit.

It's made by Kaslo, but marketed by SAR.

BTW, the kit for sale is mine. Just clearing space..
