Yup, that would have HURT! Anyway, the repair is made and here is video evidence that these can be made to pull a little better, now to add some more weight.

Finally got back to that 2 story building. and a Grandt line house. Spent some time Sunday on these, a fun diversion from the more technical loco's! No progress this week yet, as I have been working an evening after hours job at a local retailer, so hope to be back at it Thurs! PIC_0399.JPG PIC_0400.JPG PIC_0401.JPG

Well, I decided this would be a barber shop/ bath. These were quite common in the area up through the 30's and even into the 40's. So's a fella could get cleaned up for a night or day on the town after being out at the farm or ranch for the last month or two. PIC_0407.JPG An interior wall, some board walks front and back, and some signage, so far. PIC_0408.JPG PIC_0409.JPG

The barbershop is closer to done now. Added the roof ov er the residence in back, but those support posts look huge in the photos! PIC_0410.JPG PIC_0411.JPG PIC_0412.JPG Also finished the glazing and removeable roof. Now on to details and weathering after final paint. I think this side will get a small roof over the door and a curtain hanging in front of the bath house door as well as other sundry details appropriate. PIC_0413.JPG Then i got the foundation of this place attached and weighted down for the night. Still not certain what business it will be, though bakeries were nearly as popular as saloons, so that may be it's future. PIC_0414.JPG

Construction is booming! So, got a start on another house, with lots of peel and stick parts, so it's fairly easy.

Got a little done on this refinery building. Took my best guesses at what things should be in there and got busy. No lighting, yet, but easily added at a later date... PIC_0566.JPG PIC_0568.JPG PIC_0569.JPG

Alan- Could you please note the manufacturer of these kits? I see a few which cause intrigue.... :)

Love this thread! Have you named "The Hill" yet? Drawbar Alley might be appropriate, depending on the grade.

Boxcab - The kits are by Laser Art. I picked up several at the Helena show one year. Simple and straight forward kits for those almost comatose evenings when you just have to do something, but nothing complex!

Hemi - Thank you! This forum and N-scale forum are my favorite places to hang out. Your stuff is always informative, especially the photography. I have to get to Minot yet, to see that Pacific at the Zoo, primarily!
No name for the hill yet. Rattlesnake canyon is the beginning, but Dtawbar Alley might just be the slang the crews use! So now I have to figure out how to model bits of broken drawbars, coupler knuckles and wreck debris left lay in the canyon!!

Well, I got tired of looking at this big open hole and filled it with a rock wall, sides of a cut. The siding above are where the refinery and oilfield support are going, so it ended up being in my sights for far too long. A little styrofoam, mud and coloring.... PIC_0641.JPG PIC_0643.JPG PIC_0648.JPG Wednesday was busy tho, with grandkids over to see Grandma for a b-day. They had to come out and see trains! Two of the boys, and their mother!, were asking my son when he would be getting some back in his own house!! YAY!! So the granddaughter blew the whistle as steam rolled through the newly colored cut! I like how you added strata color to the face of the cut. Nice work.

Have you ever seen the old Red Caboose knuckle couplers? Snip the screw holes off, and maybe snip off a knuckle or two, and strategically place them near tight curves on Drawbar Alley. A bit of rust colored paint, and maybe some clean steel color for a freshly broken knuckle......

On a side note, if you come to Minot, pm me and I'll show you around.
