One toaster looks like another toaster! However, as long as SF is in charge, there will be a lot of variety like this. It costs big bucks to paint a choo-choo!
It ain't green, but it is executive. It is always nice for me to see these still around, I think this was/is one of the classiest paint jobs.. It's very early and a storm is brewing. (But, it just flew over on it's way east.) There's a lost easterner in this pair of trains. There's still a shadow of the badlands on the lead unit,
I do enjoy early morning or sunset lighting! Everything gets a very different look! The BNSF colors get really reflective in a contrasting way with low angle light, which makes for some very interesting pics.
Did a drive by through the alley that goes by the roundhouse yesterday morning and spotted the rotaries all set for snow! Also a couple of service track shots.
One goes to ND, east. And the other goes west to Terry, then down the Hettinger, SD line, east. It can also go up the Sidney branch to access the Hi-Line if needed. The paired set does fit on the turntable, and the wye west of the yard is always available.
Just before sunrise yesterday morning at Hodges, MT. It snowed overnight and here we go charging up Beaver Hill. Not ten minutes after I drove off to work, another train was heard howling up the grade, dang it! And this old wooden heavyweight is still collecting snow and age....
Sunset ain't bad either! Just a couple of coal trains..... And for the OCS superdetail nuts! There is a gap in the corner of all these cars!
Climbed up that small butte near Glendive Creek and got this overhead shot as the train headed east. And of course there's a video!
That "H1" still looks sharp and clean!! That looks like two oil trains together, back to back, with those buffer cars in the middle??
I have been noticing that their are mid train buffers in all of the trains here now, but have learned of no reason. I would guess some new regulation, or the needs of the uploading facility.
Made a trip to Miles City and saw two trains on the trip. This was the only one I was able to catch and it seemed like a good deal for a Christmas eve train!
