Two Ski Train sequences (Bob Jordan) West Plainview, December 1974 January 1975 (Not sure on location for this set. All I know is that it's along the Moffat Route.) (A friendly wave it being returned out the baggage door of the combine.)
An RGZ sequence at Tunnel 1, January 1975 (Bob Jordan) And an eighth view at an unknown location, January 1975
This is not Altamont. I don't recognize the correct location. Maybe Fremont CA. I do like the picture though. The CZ rolling through Altamont, CA, January 1967 (Thomas G. Acheson) [/QUOTE]
Two more Ski Train sequences (Bob Jordan) Tunnel 1, January 1975 January 1975, again somewhere along the Moffat Route
This is like one of those "Info-mmercials" on tv...."BUT WAIT, there's more"!!! Keep 'em coming, this is awesome!!
The steam generator in that photo is not one of the ex-PBs. That one is #250, converted from a tender.
That makes sense. Why go through the trouble of making a flat cutout in the roof of a PB (at extreme right in the photo)? Just more labor. Using a tender is a great idea. There's already a space for a water tank and the steam generators can be put where the coal used to be. This is one info-mercial that I don't mind watching!
And now it is back to the regularly schedule programming. Santa Fe RSD-5 2158, Pueblo, CO, 1960s (Al Chione) Santa Fe VO-1000 2220 (Taken before it was turned into the Beep), 1960s (????)
Is the color of that slide off, or did 2158 get its zebra stripes covered with yellow paint first, and its black covered with navy blue paint at a later date?
