Ztrack Magazine is excited to announce that we are now taking orders for High Tech Modellbahnen's line of Z scale accessories, electronics, rolling stock and locomotive upgrades. High Tech Modellbahnen is a leader in Germany of highly detailed and intricate lighting and electronics for the Z scale market. Ztrack Magazine is proud to be the distributor for HTM in North America.

Highlights of HTM line include a Z scale specific locomotive cradle. Called an inspection pit, this robust foam work platform includes a cradle for locomotives and cars, insets for small parts and a place to hold tools. It is item 5000 and retails for $27.50.

HTM is offering a railway inspection pit. This plastic pit is cast in
concrete gray. It includes recesses for rails and 2 stairways. Item 5010 is a single pit for $8.00. A set of three is available as item 5011 and sells for $20.50.

Ghost wagons are locomotives disguises a rolling stock. HTM offers a German 'ghost' box car and a German 'ghost' package car for passenger trains. These are items 2000 and 2001. Each sells for $339.75. HTM is also offering three
freight cars with micro red LED backlights (end of train lights). Item 3000 is a German box car ($101.00), item 3001 is a German caboose ($92.75) and item 3002 is a flat car ($90.00).

HTM offers LED lighting module upgrades for Märklin locomotives. These 'plugs' are drop in replacements for Märklin's grain of wheat lightbulbs. Installation is very easy! HTM offers plugs for most of Marklin's offering. Also, the plugs are available in either a white or yellow LED. For those in North America, plug 7000 (white) and 7001 (yellow) are replacements for Marklin's F7s. These sell for $13.60 for 7000 and $13.10 for 7001.

For Marklin's Mikado and Pacific steam locomotives, HTM is offering plug 7021 (white) for $13.60 and 7031 (yellow) for $13.00. For European operators, HTM offers a vast selection of plugs to fit steam locos, diesel locos, electric locos and even the railbusses!

As of now, Ztrack is taking orders for HTM products. Please download the Ztrack PDF order form for more information and pricing of the line. We also have a product sheet which includes photographs. The accessory form can be found at:

    John,

I will have to post some. These are from a line I offered back in the mid 1990s. They are resin cast and a little 'rustic'. I had some folks ask me about them. I found a box that still contained inventory. I thought I would sell of the inventory, but I never plan on making them again. The yard tower is actually from a Fred Ladd master. I think the barns are very nice.

I really wish we could get some American Z scale crossing signals with gates. I don't care if they light up or not, just some castings (maybe metal) will do.

I sent scale drawings to MakeMyModel, but now I think these would be too fragile. (from them) edit

Who DOESN'T have a road crossing on their layout?

Chirss, Micron Art makes a crossing signal. Michael Hilliard makes a functional crossing gate, but its expensive, its late on its delivery. I have seen pictures of the crossing gate, and its very nice.

I have never seen a real crossing signal like the one Micron Art sells, plus no gate.
    http://www.micronart.com/1055_Crossing_Signal.html

If Michael Hilliard is the fellow on Yahoo with the automatic gates, he said he had no more parts and had no idea if he would make more. I don't need or even want them to work, but his really looked nice.

    I'd like something like this:

    This would be perfect:

    Made out of pewter maybe?

Just something I think is needed.

    Crossing Gates in Z

Michael Hilliard is your best bet. But, place your order at least a year in advance! He is a busy man. He take extreme pride in making these gates. If I had the tools he uses to make them, I would make some for myself. I have plans for a future project making some, but not right now!

As far as Micron Arts crossing gates, they are pre-civil war, at least they are to me. Everything Micron Art has is old, Old, OLD timey in nature. Ancient History! The man does not believe in anything modern. It's the nostalgia of the railroads of yesteryear that drive Reynards production!

Make My Model is a grand choice to have make Crossing Gates, but, they would be extremely fragile! I mean EXTREMELY! Acrylic RP is awesome, but some things are best left to Injection Plastic or metal!

Berkshire makes a Z crossing gate, but Michael once stated that their Z gate is a little oversized! Can always try it!

Scratchbuild or sweet talk Michael Hilliard are your best bets to get accurate Z gates or try Berkshires!! Sorry I can't be of more help!

Thanks guys. I will have to send an E-mail to Berkshire Junction and see what they say. I have seen that photo before, but they only show a listing for the "other" scales. I have bought EZ line from them direct in the past.

    Tim,
I understand about Micron Art's stuff being old old old (lol) They are great products and I have a few things for my circa 1915 N scale layout.

Sorry to hijack this topic, back to your regularly scheduled program:wink3ed:

    Hi,

Regarding crossing gates, I contacted Berkshire Junction close to a year ago (?) and the owner said they were getting out of the "Z" crossing gates business, but they had a few left and I either got the last two or almost bought him out. Regarding Michael H, well...I sent him money 20 months ago and still have received nothing, despite some periodic cajoling. I'm hoping he will at some point finish and ship them because they looked great.

Pat (member for a while but my first post on this great list).

Hi Pat, welcome to Trainboard. We would love to see some of your work, so how about posting some pictures. Wow, this is post 707, the same number as the first practical jet airliner.

Pat Welcome! Good to see you here.

Bryan and I had a great time at your place the other day. I didn't get in too much trouble since I got home before our guests arrived. ;-)

    Hi Pat,

Nice to see you posting here! Like Randy said, it was great getting together with you the other day, and we should do it more regularly. Perhaps a bit of extra cajoling would help us ALL get some projects COMPLETED!

Hope to see you around these parts more often!

I have just replaced the bulbs in 11 of my locomotives, and the LED's of HTM are looking good!

    Heine,

Great photo! Those new LEDs look really great. I have a number of the new LED plugs, but I haven't had a chance to instal them yet. See your 103, I just might have to start upgrading today!
