I've had a search of the archives, but cant find my answer :(

Our club has a "standard" of the DigiTrax DT400 controller... Just makes life easier I think.. (nobody is selling them at club, so that aint the reason ;)

Now for my layout I only need a Zephyr (8x4 layout), but dont wanna dish out the bux for the controller, and not be able to use this controller at home.

Can you use a DT400 on a Zephyr? Probably not worded correctly, but hope you get what I mean.

    Thanks people.

Bruce, not a problem. I've been using a DT400 with my Zephyr for over a year without any problems. It makes life easier as MU'ing and programming are so much easier with the DT400 versus the Zephyr console.

I started with the Zephyr but as my son got older he hogged the Zephyr leaving Dad not having any fun at all! :) My solution was the DT400. :D Had I known the versatility I would have bought one much sooner.

Excellent. Thanks for that. I had my first real use of the DT at club the other night with 3 locos I have with DCC...

Was interesting, but nothing in one sense as DCC was sold to me.. it was sold to me as automated running of trains by 2 stores. which is why I have always thought why bother, I like running the trains myself - thats the whole fun part for me..

Hm....... do I need sound lol

    Thanks again

the DT400 will also boost the functions of your Zehyr from 8+ lights to 12+lights, a big bonus with sound decoders.
as stated above the two throttles, Much, MUCH easier consisting, and programming made the DT400 A perfect addition for your Zephyr.

The beauty of the Digitrax network architecture is that you can use any of their components with any other.

My combination is currently a Zpehyr (for command station/power supply in one, as well as programming) plus a UT-4R for an additional throttle and to use at the club which supports wireless (radio).

The UT-4R works easily with the multiple Super Empire Builder/Super Chiefs that the club uses to power the layout.

The order has been placed.. I ended up with the Super Chief - why? The price was not that much different in the end.

Also ordered 20 DCC Decoders for my 'DCC READY' locos (I hope thats true!)

    thanks for opinions.

Would like to have done the lot in one go, thats only another 40+ locos... :( :(

Need to find out how hard GS4's (4 to do) are to do, and what decoders go in them, they will be a priority!
