Correct, that is Lyn's former layout. It is now owned by Hans Riddervold. Hans is the owner of American Z Line. He bought the layout to run and show off his AZL products. As you can see by the photo, they look awesome on the layout! I just can't wait to get a photo of a cab-forward coming out of the tunnel.

Lyn's skills are truly amazing. He is a master in my opinion. I have a number of great photos of the layout and his modeling.

the cab forward is coming! Here is a photo of the Z scale sample. We are looking at a March 2006 release date. Actually, the run will be complete in January, but by time we receive the shipment, it will likely be close to March.

Not that I know of. The SP was best know for cab forwards. These were needed for the long tunnels. Engineers were being asphyxiated by exhaust going through tunnels. The cabforwards solved the problem. Also, the crews loved the visibility from the cab.

The PRR ran some very large steam locos. Decapods and such were not unusual. I am not a steam expert so I don't know all the types. A few years ago, we actually ran an article on a layout that featured scratch and bashed PRR locomotives.

That set of shots looks like the old #1 track on Donner, with the newer line tunneling thru the mountain...
