Have to remove the cab interior for a decoder. The shell needs a bit of trimming on the sides, under the cab, and the light pipe needs to be removed.

Looks like an 0402 white SMT will be required to get the headlights working. Since I'm converting this unit to a low headlight SD60, I need to patch over the upper headlight holes with a plate, and drill new holes for the nose mounted lights. Still thinking about the ditch lights.

    Robert, You are the Man!

Fricken Awesome! I knew sooner or later you would try to DCC, and succeed, the new AZL SD70! Here is my proof! You did it! Wow!

Yesterday Jeffrey White came over and we had a Mastermind for about 3-4 hours. In that time he showed me one of his many Union Pacific SD70's. Very Nice! Very Nice indeed!

I can't wait till AZL releases the SD in the BNSF paint scheme. I wonder which paint scheme it will be? Hopefully both the BNSF Warbonnet and the BNSF Pumpkin! (Heritage II)

    Go Robert Ray!

    Go AZL!

    Go Z Community!

Robert, again you amaze me with what you can do. You should be on the payrole of every Z manufacturer to help them decide what type and how to put decoders in.

Robert, post the side shot of the shell base showing where the 'shelf' for the decoder needs to be cut. Basicaly, the main body where the wider cab sits over it needs to be cut right where that light colored cab floor sits.

I love it when I go over to Robert's... we bounce so much 'what ifs' off each other and the next thing you know, parts are just that. It is really nice that the larger NCE 4 function decoder (or Digitrax DZ-143) fits in so 2 extra lighting effects can be used over the smaller Lenz Gold Mini 2 function. While not proto on all engines, I like two seperate headlights so I can gyrate one and a yellow beacon for the yard assigned engines. Sometimes you just have to go for the ooo-ahhh effect at shows.
